The Healgen test is not 'Government approved' - it is currently working it's way through the approvals process. I'll flag the ad to MHRA.

Are you an NHS or care home employee?

I am aware that the PHE and NHS are running a pilot on self-testing, and that a number of care home groups were going to be involved. This would seem to fit in with that.

I've flagged Clinical Business Solutions various emails/tweets to CIGA and asked them to confirm whether third party sales are now permitted. Let's see what they come back with.

The contract which Abingdon, as the primary company in the UK-RTC, holds with the government is clear - DHSC permission is needed for any sales to third parties. That creates exclusivity. It has not been confirmed that DHSC has given permission for third party sales. However, we do know that CIGA, on behalf of the UK-RTC, has been taking pre-orders pending that permission being granted/the contract expiring.

Subject to any yet to be announced changes, that contract expires on 14 February.

It isn't ODX's test - it's the UK-RTC's test... and, until 14 February (at this time - subject to any further agreements), the government controls who it can be sold to. It cannot be sold to anyone other than HMG at present.

BRH is going up steadily the last few days - it's up 12.79% presently today.

I'm invested in both BRH and ODX (amongst other Covid stocks). Although BRH has the potential to provide a nice return in the short to medium term, to me ODX offers the greatest long term potential due to it's portfolio.

The community LFT testing in MK will not be 'at home' antigen testing. It will be the hub based LFT testing model that has been used elsewhere (e.g. Liverpool).

Mologic is not based in Milton Keynes either (another thing Twitter has got wrong). It's based in Thurleigh, north of Bedford. It just happens to have an MK postcode, as does a large chunk of Bedfordshire...

The price being quoted on Twitter is from a retailer - not from the UK-RTC. It is also from a company (Clinical Business Solutions) that has previously claimed it able to supply tests that it couldn't actually supply. It would take anything it says with a very large pinch of salt.

The firm concerned is Clinical Business Solutions - it has form for claiming it is able to supply tests that it can't (it did similar last year).

It's duff. It's an email from Clinical Business Solutions (some Covid supplies start up company in Dundee that can't even put together a decent web-site) - not from ODX or CIGA.

Indeed. I note he also doesn't say which antibody test it is (AbC19 or Visitect) but suggests that it's an email from ODX.

As informed investors will know, ODX doesn't sell the AbC19 test - all sales are via CIGA.

The cost is immaterial (the administration and supply costs of pre-vaccination testing would easily exceed the costs of the vaccines that might be given to those with antibodies already - and there are no real clinical risks (other than where people may have an issue with a constituent of the vaccine, but then they won't get the vaccine anyway).

"Pretty stupid in my view (the hallmark of this government) not to test for anti-bodies before administering a Cocid-19 vaccine (that has been developed in short order and which, for the AZN one, questions have been raised about the clinical trial results and where the dosage routine to be used wasn't trialled anyway). It exposes people, who may well have natural immunity, and don't need a vaccine to the unnecessary risk of side effects."

It's not stupid at all - it's fairly common practice.

We do not routinely test for antibodies pre-vaccination across a range of vaccines, as there is little if any clinical risk in vaccinating someone who already has antibodies. From a public health perspective, it makes far more sense to go for as large a number of people as possible in the risk groups and that is what the JCVI has advised the government to do.
