The Mologic test being trialled *is* an antigen test...

And both antigen and antibody tests have their places in this testing scenario. Having both tests would enable you to say:

- Antibody test +ve = safe to travel at this time.
- Antibody -ve = antigen test
- Antigen -ve = safe to travel at this time
- Antigen +ve = not safe to travel at this time.

The Mologic test isn’t flawed - it does what it is designed to do as an antigen test. There is no test that is designed to identify asymptotic carriers.

You don’t test for antibodies during an ealy active infection. You use a diagnostic test (I.e. a molecular or antigen test).

Antibodies won’t be produced in measurable quantities until 6-15 days (depending on the type of antibody) post infection.

Heathrow Airport are using three different types of test:

1. A molecular test - Geneme’s RT-LAMP test
2. An antigen test - Mologic’s saliva lateral flow test
3. An AI optical test - I-Abra’s Virolens system.

The only one that is likely to be a competitor - if it works with sufficient specificity and sensitivity - would be the Virolens. Results in 20 seconds as against 10 minutes for the Mologic test and 30 minutes for the LAMP test

I think there's grounds to be slightly more optimistic. WHO prequalification is primarily in relation to WHO agencies (IGOs rather than NGOs) and related UN agencies. The reference to /'021' budgets is in relation to President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and UN agencies.

WHO prequalification is also relevant to WHO member states who may be making direct investments into programmes through their own agencies or NGOs. For many, that will be happening now - so we may well get order before the end of 2020 in relation to 2021 budgets being finalised now.

Avacta is an antigen test. UK-RTC/ODX is an antibody test.

The uproar around unreliable antibody tests plays to our benefit. The UK-RTC/ODX antibody test is highly accurate and already approved for clinical POC use. The furore around the inaccurate tests just puts more pressure onto the government to sign up to rolling out the gold standard test - particularly when it can be patient administered (testing/approvals process being worked through now).

I am amazed by the naivety of some people on here. ODX isn't a share to make a quick buck on. It's a long term investment with significant potential, a great range of products ready to go and in development with a range of partners, and an exciting pipeline in the short to medium term. What's not to like?

Why bother with trying to take a few pence profit here and there when there are £££s to be made in the medium to long term?
