Material supply needs staged. AVCT appears to have final validation issues, which I am sure will be resolved for instant test.....maybe 6 weeks? Meantime ODX have the third pillar ready very shortly. Production for ODX for next four weeks, then for AVCT. All fits. Do we think for a minute ODX and AVCT are not in direct discussions, as to their respective material supply needs short term.......acting in concert.............orchestrating their material supply chain needs. He has talked both about antigen and antibody testing (and managed to conflate the two, as he's not very capable when it come to basic details).

If it's antigen testing then the Mologic test will be here before the Avacta one...

I hate to burst your bubble but it happens all the time. For example, the Covid 19 contract with IS providers wasn't finally agreed and signed off until August... after they'd started negotiating a variation to it!

The investigation into Covid 19 procurements is throwing up numerous examples of contracts being put in place after orders have been placed and, in some cases, delivered. The NAO is already warning that things will get uncomfortable for some departments.

Because he doesn't have a grasp of the subject. He struggles with detail - his briefings have to be so brief as he can't cope with numbers and facts.

I think we need to treat this claim with some scepticism... it it s theoretical capacity covering all testing pillars. We know that we have never reached anywhere near the full level of theoretical capacity, despite government claims.

I wonder how many people bought into TTE shares last week on the back of their what now appears to be dodgy RNS?

When the usual suspects were on here trying to deramp, using the i-Abra Virolens, following the Heathrow trials and the TT Engineering RNS, I did point out that the Virolens was only at prototype stage. They conveniently ignored that.

If the Virolens can be made to work - and the AI machine learning can be shown to be robust - then all well and good. It will be another item in the armoury - but it won't replace anything that ODX currently has.

This tender is not news - it has been discussed in depth on this board in recent days...

"One bloke didn't have any symptoms just been on holiday and wanted a test to check he did not have it. People would be quite happy to pay £20 a pop to get a gold standard test through Amazon they can do at home no problem."

The UK-RTC test is an antibody test - so it wouldn't indicate if he had an active infection (the Visitect Triple Antibody might, given it includes IgM). If he wanted to double-check he didn't have it he'd need a molecular or antigen test. None of those are currently available for self-administration. They're currently lab based.

The closest to a professional POC antigen test is the Mologic test but that's still not been CE marked - and won't be available as self-use for some time.

It's a different app in Scotland - 'Protect Scotland' app rather than 'NHS Covid-19' app. In terms of track and trace, Scotland's well ahead of England.

As far as I am aware, general release is scheduled for next week - 24 September. That said, they may release it early to try and divert from the mess they're making of the testing itself... in which case, expect a buggy app that will crash your phones and be subject to interminable updates.

It hasn't been released to the general public. It's been released to invited participants as part of a trial.

As far as I am aware, the general release date is scheduled for 24 September.

That will change. DHSC are trying to concentrate on Pillar 1 testing for front line staff. Most hospitals should have the capacity to test their own staff (although there are issues there) but care homes don't - hence why care home staff are the first to have access. Problem is, this is not a molecular or antigen test, which is what they really need access to more than anything...

It would be a huge step forward and a key piece of integration - but, having had to deal with NHSX in the past, I foresee much headbanging and frustration for those in the UK-RTC who are taking that bit of work forward. I feel for them, I really do...
