I think one of the things ideologists like you suffer with is when your ideology bumps into reality. Sure the Paris Accord has all sorts of studies suggesting things like tariffs but they are just think tanks. It is not a trade agreement and as such it has no way of enforcing sanctions or penalties.
The best it can do is suggest that its members don't trade with the world's largest economy and don't take its petrol, gas, aircraft, arms and all the other things that other nations actually want.
That is where it differs from the UK. We produce nothing (apart from arms) that other countries want anyway. So any tariff we imposed would be self harming, unless for example it was because we wanted to promote our own gas/oil and fracking products. But these clowns have ruled that out.
Let's see how our predictions pan out. You think Solgold will go to production and Trump will bow to the green lobby. Forgive me as I laugh when I counter with mine.
Solgold will be bought out, USA will leave the Paris Accord, Net Zero will end, and EV mandates the world over will disappear faster than Shergar did.
