I would invite you to watch the closing Auction and tell me it's not being manipulated.

Time and time again there are sells in that auction at far less than the bid moments before. Why would you sell for example 100,000 shares at 6.7p when you could have got 7.1p for them on the open market? It happens practically every day. If you have L2, watch it and see.

Indeed, several vehicles like Valuestone could gather clumps of 2.99% each without notifying the market. It wouldn't be very ethical but we know that the Chinese aren't honest anyway.

Also, depending on how you have your L2 configured, you might be seeing those multiple 150s as a larger block at the same price. There is a setting where you can see the bid/asks aggregated or down to a more granular level. If you choose the granular level then you will see every bid and ask not just a grouped entry. You'll also see the four letter codes that identify which entries are Market Makers, and of course who they are. (eg WINS = Winterflood Securities)
