I think it's problematic for any Tier 1 to buy SEE now. I doubt OEM's would be too happy to have a stranglehold on DMS for a number of reasons.

The fact remains, tariffs or otherwise, in order for any OEM to new models from 05/22 and all vehicles from 2024 it will need safety DMS. If Toyota, for example, in a suicidal moment, decided not to sell cars to Europe, some other OEM's would gladly step in to satisfy customers needs.
It's too simplistic to say a global company would stop trading with countries solely based on its governments stance. As far as I'm aware, goods from both China and the USA both go in opposite directions, tariffs applied or not.

The fact is virtually all Japanese OEM's are global concerns. They are hardly going to turn their back on the majority of their customers and concentrate solely on China. That would be economic suicide. Besides, I suspect Europe would be cautioning restraint from both sides and would trade with both sides as will Japan.
As happens in all trade wars.

There are those that would argue the Great Recession hasn't ended (UK productivity certainly didn't rebound when it supposedly ended) so what follows next may be a lot worse.

After today's update and SEE having found a few extra million dollars, based on $200 million booked business (yes, at the high end of expected revenue) under a Mobileye type valuation if some entity wanted to buy SEE it would be 35p a share.

You're correct, it is in house, does eye-tracking only, does not do fatigue or distraction so may miss a number of accident causing events so quite probably not up to 5 star NCAP post 05/2022 or much use comparing it to Super Cruise in the US.
