S2020 Yes, not a big market but growing, no real competition, likely the vast majority of AV testers will follow the lead, niche product therefore big mark up, revenue and profit you would expect to be included in this financial year. And in addition, if the AV testers weren't aware of SEE, they are now and the publicity should be helpful. So, what's not to like about the new product!

I think you'd expect most of the above from a level 2 regardless of whether you agreed to data being farmed. And the others , I can't see any value knowing you're reducing the value of a level 2 car by being party to the building of a level 4 car, DMS will reduce insurance premiums anyway and what happened to anonymous, it seems open to being the opposite, and 17 year olds have privacy rights as well, unless you want to have continuous rows. I'm afraid you can't get away from the privacy issue unless you expect customers to accept some very debatable benefits, benefits by and large you'd expect a level 2 car to have without having to agree to being a data gathering engine.

But what value would an individual see from allowing data to be gathered?

SG, if a company/organisation is purposefully collecting data even if it intends to anonymise, it has a legal duty to inform the individual, who may opt in or out at that point. There have been a number of incidences where anonymisation has not worked, hence why given the chance people opt out. It's a non-starter as S2020's previous post and referencing Cenkos makes clear. A legal minefield most companies would run a country mile from!

You still need an individuals consent, you cannot just take data in those circumstances, anonymous or not. Of course, if Toyota et al want to face a class action that would make VWs recent fine seem like peanuts, please may they go ahead. In the process, halting DMS and ultimately what the illegal data gathering was intended to help along the way, level 4/5.....

It's a non starter. Firstly have you seen the news today and in relation to that please read up about GDPR. As regards the UK, go back to it's roots, we value our privacy and so you would have to have the individuals consent. A legal nightmare. Hence, why SEE's data may be so valuable.

Average mileage in the UK is 12000 per year so 12 billion but the privacy issue is problematic which is why the data from Fleet may be very valuable.

Esc Yes, it was me. Unless Uber didn't want to put its (previous) problems under the spotlight, why wouldn't it want to publicise the fact it was taking steps to fix the problem. However, in the article as regards its use in the test vehicles Uber wouldn't disclose the provider of the technology. Apple are notoriously silent on these issues so we have to rely on Safestocks blog and cryptic hints from Semicast to point to Apple. SEE already has a relationship with GM so maybe it's Cruise. It's a guessing game but if I had to pick one I'm inclined to go for Apple but we won't know until we see the evidence.

I could be wrong but I don't think a professional analyst would get desperate. Have you seen what Semicast charge for its reports?

I don't believe Semicast has posted the 8 tweets haphazardly, it's a question of the tweet you'd expect to see that isn't there that's interesting. Maybe cryptic but not much. Semicast has not sent a tweet to Apple which from the wording of the tweets would suggest Apple are already using SEE's BdMS as opposed to it being Uber for example, and in line with Safestock's blog.
Semicast is a market analyst and (for now) the SP for him does not come into it. Colin is trying to identify trends and market winners not today but tomorrow and in that chaos theory comes into the equation.
And, FWIW, he seems to believe tomorrow SEE will be at the forefront of this particular market.

Not necessarily Jono. However, on the 19th as well as the results, the management has said it will advise how it will address the shortfall in revenues following G2 issues. Obviously the monthly loss may not be the figure you quoted as there are facts we do not have to hand which could make the loss higher or lower. It could well be SEE decide on a way forward as per S2020's earlier posts or if the current business model is retained the shortfall may be met by - 1. A placing /subscription from existing shareholders. 2. A strategic investor taking a stake. 3. Borrowing the money on the back of existing auto contracts. 4. A combination of the above. Whatever, unless SEE has the winning Euro lottery ticket, there will be a shortfall. In that case, S2020's solution to the problem appeals to me most. But I'm not on SEE's Board so my view doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things!
