It’s easy to forget that we are in the middle of a period of massive change. For healthcare, for industry, for government, for how we go about our daily lives with each other at work and socially. In such times it is the highly adaptable who not only survive but positively thrive, whether we’re talking about institutions or individuals, companies or investors.
Omega Diagnostics and some other Life Science companies are constantly having to adjust to changes in the course of the pandemic, the scientific understanding of what to do about it and the government’s responses to this. Omega have just announced an agreement with a government that is committed to spending an eye-watering amount on testing. Testing which is vital if we are to properly open up the economy and our social lives, regardless of what happens with developments in vaccines or treatments. Testing which will also be needed in numerous other countries. Omega are one of the very few UK manufacturers who can capitalise on this need for rapid testing worldwide.
Successful investors will also need to show flexibility at the moment. So I suggest people don’t get so hung up on the inevitable changes to plans or messages during this period of flux. Don’t worry so much that a deadline has passed or a particular test hasn’t worked out. Disregard the latest trading figures which have very little bearing on what is about to happen. Don’t pick away at every loose thread as though these were normal times. Stick to the bigger picture and to the bigger changes that bode well, such as the ongoing recruitment drive.
If you aren’t convinced that ODX will thrive, despite all the positive signs, then I suggest you simply sell up and put your money somewhere you think is a better bet. You might turn out to be right. But you can’t know for sure. And I guess that is why so many spend so much time on here sharing their insecurities about it.
Each time the ODX price drops significantly, I’ve sold something else and topped up my holding. The same with several other Life Science stocks. The more I see of what ODX are doing, the more I perceive them to be one of those companies which will do very well out of the current chaos.
