Currently the SP is hostage to the POG and the vagaries of Comex rather than anything that Centamin themselves are doing or announcing. - If this year is managed as last year, there won't be announcements other than qtrly. results or events warranting RNS. - I'm a bit uncertain as to what the policy will be with regards to quarterly forecasting.

News may have been leaked regarding Q1 forecast and there is selling ahead of the news. - Just a theory. - But make no mistake, Q1 forecast could be injurious to the SP.

Is there a list containing 'Junior miners'? - I'm not aware of one, but it would save a lot of trawling if such a thing was available.
I'd be grateful if any of our family could provide info.

If, and I emphasise if, the market takes a low Q1 forecast in it's stride, thus expressing their confidence in Centamins ability to meet annuals, for me, that reaction would be huge and a good omen going forward, a sign if you like that we have turned a corner. - So, fingers crossed.

One thing that all we old-timers do know is that counting chickens in respect of Centamin is a mugs game. - I share the high-hopes, but will be more comfortable doing so once I know what and how Q1 forecast is received. - Lest ye have forgotten, we know it's going to be in stark contrast to Q4 2019 and vey low proportional to 2020 forecast.

It was about this time last year, late Feb, that the Q1 forecast figures were announced, resulting in the SP falling of a cliff. - It'll be interesting to observe this years affect. - POG rise could help in absorbing the impact, but what a pity if recent gains are nullified/reversed by adverse market-reaction. - We'll soon know. - Mind you, I'm assuming that they will announce Q1 guidance. They always have.

The recent rise in SP was experienced by most miners, so it's possible that part of the rise in Cey SP was on the back of this sentiment. - The greater picture painted by the numbers going forward is almost a rerun of last year. A low H1 followed by a 50% uplift in H2 in order to meet forecast. - Last year, we were punished for this strategy. The company appears not to have learned from this. For me, the jury is still out. - Q1 actual numbers will determine direction for the next 6 months I feel. After that, just as last year, Q3 will be the tester as to whether the 2020 forecast is realisable. - The philosophy H140%/H260% appears not to be overly trusted by the market generally and tends to induce a wait and see stand-off. Based purely upon the numbers and the way they have been presented and once again the quality of patience will be needed in the make-up of investors. - This apart, POG and it's affect upon market sentiment will in common provide it's own influence. - IMO

Hi Tiger - Whilst you still have the crystal-ball, what does it predict in terms of the price they will offer?

Maybe the poor H1 outlook is beginning to sink-in.

Tornado - Depends who you are, but secondary-hedges fo some of the players taking massive gambles are 'Government bail-outs'. - Because it's in place is why the gamble is taken. They can't fail. :-)

Dansul - My understanding is that Centamin's existing arrangement will not change when a new Mining law is introduced. - It will apply to any new licences that Centamin may be invloved with, but not the current 160km permit.

Hi Razor - Holding shares on ex-dividend date qualifies for dividend, even if they are subsequently sold before payment date, you get paid the dividend.

I note the reference to 'Production sharing arrangement'(PSA) - I believe CEY arrangement is 'Profit sharing'. - Is there a difference.?

Thanks for your response. - Mine scheduling! - OK, I'll have to go with that. - Although I've compared things with last-year, by comparison, things are looking more rosy. - I'm glad you're excited, because that in turn gives me hope - I base that on the work you put into the study of Centamin and all of it's parts. - The only problem I have with the 40/60 split is that H2 has to increase production by 50%. - In my book that's a lot and leaves no contingency for overcoming set-backs. In a single-mine operation, any set-back could spell major trouble. - So why invite it by giving yourself a mountain to climb in the second-half instead of a steadily rising incline. A good start to the new year could alleviate all of this. - With a one-mine exposure and all that could mean, I just don't understand the philosophy.

Can anyone explain why production should drop by around 33% in Q1. - The same happened last year. - What is it? - Snow on the ground? - Mills don't work as efficiently at the beginning of years? - Trucks don't haul as much? - Dynamite is less explosive? - What is it? - Why should production come to a virtual standstill?

Considering that the fall-off in Q1 v Q4 production is potentially greater this year than last and you will recall how we got hammered last year (Feb 25th), I'm pleasantly surprised at the market reaction. For now I can think only of a couple of reasons.
1. - A faith in management that was absent last year.
2. - A favourable reaction to our increased yearly-forecast, which is currently acting as a lifebouy.
