Wasn’t looking to have a go at Porky, but I did think my question would have been of interest to him as, on an earlier ‘Xmas’ thread, he clearly thought one of our multi gene test had been accredited, not the single gene, when he responded to you. Was a genuine question that I needed clarification on, simple as that.
Let’s not let discussion of facts get in the way of things though....

Seen a few comments mentioning that one commonly used PCR could be used to highlight the new variant, with some hoping it was ours. So, am I right in saying it is not our Genesig test accredited last week? That’s all I was trying to clarify.

Porky, fully aware that our accredited test has been confirmed as picking up the new gene at that remains great news for us. But if it’s just the 1 gene test accredited, it’s not a test that can differentiate between Delta and the new strain, that has to be a 3 gene test as sheen drop off is the indicator.
DRB83, hope your right - if we had a validated 3G test then we’d be the only one to use for quick targeting of the new variant.
Definitely reads as the 1gene Genesig test that was accredited though....

Could someone with more technical knowledge than I please clarify something for me?
Re-read the RNS in detail and if clearly references the Genesig Covid19 launched in January 2020. This is a test targeting a single gene. Our Genesig Covid19 3G test wasn’t launched until July this year, but it wasn’t mentioned On Friday. Both test remain available, so do we only have accreditation for the one gene test and not the three gene test? Re-read the RNS, it only refers to tarrgeting the Orf gene.
The one gene test would pick pick up the new variant, but (my guess work here) not be able to differentiate it through S gene drop out because it’s not targeting it.
Am I going mad here, or is this a glaring anomaly that I didn’t spot on Friday? Seriously hope I’m wrong, but the RNS clearly states Genesig Covid19, not Genesig Covid19 3G....

Great post, really personalised the predicament many of must have been in.
I quite often mention volumes as I monitor them on all investments to try and help rationalise the various rises and falls. Agree with you entirely, Friday’s high volumes were extremely significant - and apologies for not explaining why myself!
Horrendous situation with this new variant, but NCYT are well placed to lead the fight against it. My personal feeling is that HMG knew this and that our accreditation on Thursday was not sheer coincidence. I’d not be surprised to see a dispute resolution coming soon too.
Very rarely do you see stars align like they are right now for NCYT, next week could prove remarkable. However, any excitement is obviously balanced by a humane desire to see the back of this bloody pandemic. For now though, let’s hope NCYT price up to the task......

Referring back to my original post, whilst I remain downhearted about the emergence of this new variant, I’m a happy bunny seeing this SP resurgence today!! Come on NCYT.
My conscience can wait....

Agree that nothing should be dismissed. However, the most obvious and transparent reasons are usually obvious and transparent for a reason. It was just a return to previous trading levels with a few daily peaks, highlighting just how far volumes had fallen in previous month.

Living in France, the answer is very simple - sentiment. New Covid cases in France have quadrupled over the past month. It’s been big news over here, hence movement back into (what they see as) a French Covid stock.

Over 4M shares traded on The Bourse before 11am. This could be one hell of a volume day and see lots of new money incoming.
Still a long way to go IMO, but need it to be sustainable.

It’s clear that the world is experiencing one almighty Covid wake up call today - it’s all over the media. Everywhere.
For those governments and populations that were trying to bury their heads, this is a big reality check. Covid is not beaten, Covid is here for the foreseeable. I don’t enjoy stating that, but it’s now undeniable to most.
Are the markets now swinging round to the realisation that NCYT will have ongoing Covid income for years whilst they grow a non Covid business, or do they still think it’s a finite, two year market windfall?
Think we’ll see money going into NCYT as the future of Covid revenues becomes recognised.
I also agree with others that yesterday’s accreditation was no coincidence and that it paves the way for a DHSC resolution. NCYT is needed again, simple as that.

Thanks Ravenox. Doesn’t happen often when your interest in a stock opposes your gut instinct as a person, but this is one of those times. How many of us want to see the back of Covid, whilst also wanting to make money (or recover money in my case) from it at the same time? Doesn’t sit well, but I’ve made my bed.....
