Simple, they’d have been bloody expensive and COPL didn’t have the cash. Given the financial position of the company at the time, any such expenditure would have to have been RNSed.

So, likely that the JVP has already sunk $8M into evaluating the field. Chicken feed for the big boys, but puts AM in a very strong position with positive results.

If only the market knew this….seriously positive news.

Well, well, well (sorry)…..this is very interesting indeed. Timings would fit in with what you say, JV looks tied in to me, and starting from a very strong position. Basically, if the the results had been poor then the JVP would have walked.

They signed an LOI instead……

It’s the self congratulatory, pompous and patronising style that makes instant friends!!

Best ignored and just concentrate on your investment. On a day like today, their arrival is no coincidence.

The volume today is extremely encouraging, on the back of absolutely no news. What happens now when good, official news lands? Could get VERY interesting…

Bamb, agree entirely. LOI to full JV reveal within a week would be VERY unusual though, but not impossible. Most likely is a positive operational update on GGS.

Agree SteveV, could be one of many things, but there usually is a catalyst for such a quick upturn - doubt all the MS woke up independently thinking an upward trajectory was overdue. All will be revealed in due course…..

Not going to top slice until considerably higher. Work out your own strategy, then try sticking to it. Being overly reactive to quick swings seldom proves the best route forward..

Some sort of leak, probably, or perhaps JBER being informed that remaining BH’s are now going long.

Small chance we’ll get news when Canada opens, but more likely to be early next week. Could drive further FOMO.

I’d suspect potentially positive operational update is the driver, too early for any finalised JV news. Just IMO.

Great to see though, even though it has a long way to climb for many - but every long journey has to start with one small step….

Totally agree with you, it could be one of many. I never expressed my desire for it to be Exxon, just that, IMHO, it points towards Exxon. Advantages and disadvantages both ways, but was just highlighting my ‘front runner’. Either way, I believe that we’re now in the home straight on this deal….

Agreed, proximity to existing infrastructure, then Denbury deal signed days ago - they’d have to be very interested in COPL’s potential (both oil recovery and carbon storage). As for our side, who would be our preferred partner, a business that we’ve worked with before? Exxon.

Nothing’s for certain, but I’m convinced now. LOI unlikely to be signed until they secured the bigger part of the jigsaw (Denbury), then move forward with COPL. If Denbury were the brake, then most of the negotiating could already have been done. In everybody’s best interests to complete the jigsaw asap.

However, DYOR everyone (and ignore the blatant muppets!)

On the same page as you, I’m pretty convinced it’s Exxon, for all the reasons you’ve previously given - plus a big dollop of gut instinct.

Was this communication from Arthur, or Cathy? Any reason given for lack of official comms? Regular and simple positive updates would obviously calm market jitters and protect LTH, so why are they not reacting to the ridiculously low SP….
