Very different feel to the bb today, maybe they’re on a late shift today….

If you’ve invested in a share long term (or short term, for that matter) it’s only natural to be positive about it. If, in that position, you had any misgivings or doubts about it, you might want to discuss and allay your doubts, or maybe just blow off some steam. Only natural. However, it’s really highly unlikely that any genuine investor would repeatedly rubbish their own investment. That would be slightly counter-intuitive, yes? So, it would appear wholly natural to question the motives of those who sit on a BB all day, using any excuse possible to try and lower sentiment in a stock they’re invested in, yes? Similar applies to those relentlessly ramping a stock, they’re probably trading it.

Don’t just read what these complete strangers are writing, but always ask yourself why they’re writing it….repeatedly.

Most importantly, always DYOR.

188, please read my post again. I said they were trying to have an effect on sentiment - I don’t believe they succeed. Do you think you will succeed?

They’ve certainly sent the full team out to bat today. Whether it’s multi-monickers or separate individuals, he/she/they are certainly trying their best to have some sort of affect on sentiment.

Remember, don’t just read what they say, ask yourself why they’re saying it. Goes both ways, both deramping and ramping, both have agendas here.

Chip shops going bust in Middlesbrough really have no bearing on COPL’s potential or their risk/reward ratio!! Laughable.

Not an SP boosting RNS that many had (rather optimistically) hoped for, but a good ‘steady as she goes’ message. Down time on some higher producing wells have held us back, but that should result in a sharpish uptrend when resolved. Despite some people’s misquoting and (deliberate?) misunderstanding of the JV paragraph, that appears to be progressing towards the final stages, with both parties seeking agreement. Sometimes the message falls short of expectations, but that’s usually due to unrealistic expectations - not because the news is actually bad. It isn’t.

I remain wholly optimistic that big things are now on the near horizon. But then I’m invested, I’m not trading. Simply a different perspective and MO to some.

Looks a good signing to me. Sound background and relevant experience. Very positive.

No offence taken, I’ve been away from home over past 10 days. One thing I’d add, if I may? When a company’s comms are as bad as COPL’s (no argument there), you can’t afford to ‘read between the lines’, just read what’s there. No more than that.

It’s misinterpretation and the resultant hope that kills you….

Quite simple really, I don’t visit the site every day, I have other interests. It amazes me how some seem to be on here 24/7 and still can’t seem to read an RNS.

Panama, when an RNS states clearly that an NED will be nominated by November, what prompted you to add ‘and will be contracted and announced on the same day’? Hope? Misunderstanding? Their comms are undoubtedly poor, but then so is the interpretation of same, by many. Repeatedly.

Panama, I’m not ‘technically’ correct, I’ve just read the very specific wording. Simples. If ‘hundreds’ of shareholders choose to read it incorrectly, that’s their issue. You really expected an RNS to cover off their inability to read what had been written previously? I know their comms are poor, but why you’d expect such a ridiculous RNS I just can’t see.

The NED announcement will come when it comes. Just like the oil, just like the JV.

New NED to be nominated by November. Not new NED to be contracted and announced publicly by November. Why do some people ignore pretty specific RNS wording and set themselves (and others) up for disappointment? It’s in black and white, just read it…the November deadline was for nomination only.
