One thing you can say is that SCLP are no the best at keeping us informed. I suspect they are just totally focused on all of the projects going on.

7 A new Mab has been identified to stimulate certain types of memory TCells

I would have thought that in itself would warrant a left field news item. This looks to me like it is possibly another novel discovery leading to another platform protected by patents. We are left to speculate until more is revealed.

But the pattern is clear that many of Lindy's ideas lead to advances in the science. We rarely see projects fizzling out when they meet problems.
A great example of that is Avidimab. The Glycans project hit a big problem when humanising the Fc portion of the Mabs caused them to lose their killing power. Out of that problem Avidimab was born.

The trial is staggering along at the moment, of that there is no doubt. It may be augmented by further UK and/or European sites. Then again, the US arm of the trial may start when we least expect it. But these are "mays" and as such we cannot predict if and when they will happen.

The good thing is that many other projects are happening simultaneously and making progress.

1 the modi1 trial is scheduled to start H1 2020. It too is likely to be delayed IMO
2 the Scib2 trial will start at some point at no expense to SCLP
3 Modi2 is being progressed with targets identified
4 the BionTech collaboration is ongoing
5 Avidimab is being assessed by a pharma
6 Likewise the glycans Mabs
7 A new Mab has been identified to stimulate certain types of memory TCells
8 software to analyse proteins to identify likely epitopes is being utilised
9 Modi3 looks to be a possibility

All of this from 1 tiny Biotech, and there are other projects taking place outeide SCLP either based on SCLP science or being sponsored by SCLP.

No wonder Lindy is excited about combining Modi1 and Modi2!

Well we told it was unique, hence the patent. We were also told it could apply to any Mab. So the potential market is very large.
Plus I don't think Lindy has finished with Mabs at all. Evidence one of the posters at Paris described a Mab to enhance the capabilities of specific types of memory TCells. This is yet another new approach.

Well we know that BionTech have a TCR collaboration with Lilley. At least they signed one back in 2015 and there doesn't appear to have been anything to shout about since then.
So perhaps there may still be Lilley money awaiting a TCR breakthrough.
One thing seems likely is that as soon as Scancell finish their part in the scientific collaboration then it shouldn't take BionTech that long to do their part. After that is complete and BionTech are happy then I would have thought BionTech (with or without Lilley) would want to trial it ASAP. This is really another Modi1 trial but with a different starting point.
So, again pure speculation, but a possibility of having in effect 2 Modi1 trials next year or more likely IMO in 2021.

Yes, you taught me about the process.
So, again Ichor ought to be working on the issue (s) but without FDA involvement. Scancell will only know if the issues have been resolved when they submit another IND and the FDA reopen the Trigrid master file.

As I understand it, the Ichor master file can only be re-opened by the FDA when SCLP submit a new ind. Hence my post yesterday. I don't think Ichor can gain approval without a new Ind from SCLP.

At least now we are in a position where we have started the trial in Europe.

Yes, I agree with your recollection.
So, we need to get new centres opened quickly to meet that deadline.
A US site seems to me to be unlikely in the near future unless
a) Ichor know 100% what they need to do
b) they are close to achieving it
We don't want to be in the position of resubmitting the IND and the FDA have further requiremeets to be satisfied

I was sceptical about Sally's prediction of having all 25 patients enrolled by end of next year. This prediction is surely based on more centres being added pretty sharpish. But who knows, this may happen. After all Nottingham NHS has set the precedent of paying for Keytruda so perhaps others will follow suit and quickly.

Well IMO we now have 3 irons in the fire

a) BionTech TCR
b) Glycans with Avidimab
c) Avidimab for other MABs

And we also know that, notwithstanding Moditope interest from other pharmas, BionTech are also interested in Moditope the vaccine.
But the BOD want data before they would consider a Moditope deal - and quite right too IMO.

I'm also thinking that creating a viral vector is not TCR technology. So perhaps Lindy set the boundary here with an eye on future targets. Who knows what will happen for modi2 targets and anything that comes after that. Better to have a tried and tested process to create a viral vector rather than have to go through it all again with potentially another pharma. So. The philosophy seems to be go as far as you can with non-TCR technology. It makes future collaborations easier.

It's a good question Chester. We have seen the steps in the process in a number of Scancell presentation slides but none of these slides, as I recollect, show where Scancell's work ends and Biontech's begins. I must admit that I didn't think that creating the viral vector was Scancell's job but this may be the dividing line. It is obviously this is where they had the HSE issues IMO. I would guess that once these vectors are produced then BionTech just process them with their existing TCR processes, so hopefully this is a quick process that they have done many times. Then they just have to check that they have ended up with a pile of activated CD4 Tcells for the modi1 targets.At least I hope this is the case.

It will be interesting to know how our partner goes about this 12 monthe plan. Will they evaluate the 5 glyclan Mabs first and look to do a deal on these if they like what they see? Then subsequently evaluate if their own range of Mabs are suitable for the Avidimab treatment.
That might be a sensible way of proceeding since they may already be impressed with the glycans Mabs and want to ensure they are not stolen from under their noses by another pharma.
It is not an exclusive deal at present.

Didn't Lindy say that our Avidimab partner may need 12 months to evaluate the science.

Lindy did actually say something at the AGM about how close we are to finishing the scientific part of the collaboration but her answer was on the recording was unclear.

Just a small point but we are not talking about Mabs here. We are talking about engineering activated CD4 Tcells with the same receptors that you would expect Moditope the vaccine to activate.
