I think what it is basically saying is that Scancell have proved that the range of targets for Modi1 has increased. The key is interferon gamma which we know Modi1 emits. This then induces expression of the target in a greater range of tumours than was thought previously. So basically the scope of Modi1 has increased.

"Isobaric labeling has been successfully used for many biological applications including protein identification and quantification, protein expression profiling of normal vs abnormal states, quantitative analysis of proteins for which no antibodies are available and identification and quantification of post translationally modified proteins.[4]"

This seems to be Scancell related in that it is about identifying PTM proteins and in what quantities. Of course, having identified these PTM proteins, you need to be able to attack those targets. If they were any good at that they would be in a much stronger position.

I was in much the same position as yourself with SCLP. I was just in profit and thinking of selling.
Instead I decided to learn more about the science. The more I learnt, the more I appreciated that Scancell has a world class scientist as CSO. I suppose you could say I am in awe of the science and the rate it evolves, albeit, I do realise that I am not a scientist in the area of cancer research.
This is a risky investment (infinitely more so than the silver coins you give to your grandchildren) but I do believe that the constant evolution of the science mitigates the risk to some extent.
We all tend to put a positive spin on our investments ("Confirmation Bias" as Knowelsi would say) but I genuinely believe Scancell have a great chance to make a real difference especially with Moditope.

By the way, I share your attitude towards big pharma.

These 2 Mabs are collaborations with acedemia. As such they are not likely to lead to deals in themselves.
But what they show is that:
a) Scancell is sill actively working on Avidimab and applying it to new and existing Mabs. I am guessing that Ms Chua is working full time in this area.
b) We are showing our commercial collaborator just how good the technology is. Hopefully this will give our partner an increased sense of urgency in the evaluation of Avidimab.
c) We are, of course, patenting what we find.

Also a collaboration with Barcelona. This I believe to be a different Mab in the making since it binds to the Forssman Sugar whereas the Mab on the Paris poster compares it to an anti-Forssman Mab.

So, it appears there are 2 collaborations with Barcelona that we know about (or 1 collaboration for 2 different Mabs)

But back to the science on this poster. It appears that this is a Mab that binds to Stem Memory T Cells.
This is the current situation
"Clinical exploitation of TSCMs is currently not feasible due to their relative low percentage in the
periphery and lack of robust clinical grade protocols for isolating and expanding these cells."

This is what the new Mab does
"Induces TSCM proliferation and differentiation."

So it is a boost to memory TCells that causes them to multiply and differentiate into the different types of memory TCells.
It just seems to be yet another way to boost immune response that Lindy and her team have discovered.

It would be interesting to compare the 2 companies.

I am going to substitute the word "science" with "beer" in case Ruck is not coffeed up.
We know we have 2 very important collaborations and news will come at some time about deals IMO. The beer needs to take its course in one and be assessed in the other. It just needs more patience from long suffering LTHs.
Scancell show great confidence in theIr beer and rightly so IMO.
There is so much going on in Scancell and they are adamant that they will not do pre-clinical deals on their 2 main platforms so we are just going to have to wait for data. As crumbs says the Aim market may not recognise the quality of the data when it does come.
Meanwhile the beer continues to evolve and this I find highly encouraging. What is surprising is that Mabs seem to be increasing in importance as more are developed and I am assuming all are the given Avidimab treatment. The development of Avidimab is IMO the big driver in this Mab development. I feel sure we will get more left field news in this area.

Don't you just love the academic world? Lindy may have had a chat with Proffessor Yamamato having bumped into him at a conference. The next thing you know they are planning another Mab to target a difficult to treat cancer.
No doubt this Mab will also get the Avidimab treatment which may be crucial to its success.
You simply couldn't do this in the narrow commercial world.

But who will end up with the IP possibly for a knockdown price?

IMO RG certainly understands the science well and is able to articulate it better than CH and also be more realistic on timescales.
But the question is who is the better deal maker? Not a lot to go on yet on that question. I have no doubt in negotiations Lindy would give him a good kick under the table if he starts getting it wrong.
