With the Biontech TCR collaboration it may be just a case of Scancell waiting until they have Modi1 clinical data.
Again, if the data is good Biontech will likely be even more interested in progressing the collaboration through to a deal. Others may join the fray although I think the collaboration is exclusive at present.

IMO If modi1 the vaccine works well then the engineered TCells will only be for those patients with a weak immune system unable to efficiently activate the required T Cells. Nonetheless a great side-line for Scancell.

Yes, that particular job suggests to me that they are going to get more data on Avidimab and perhaps Fg2811 (from Burble's comments)
Scancell have so many crown jewels that currently are hard to value without that all important data, Without the data any deals will be on the low side. But the valuation of each can only get better if the data is good and the number of interested parties may increase which could lead to bidding wars.

Well I'm sticking with my theory that they are going for data before deals on all 3 platforms.
They now have the luxury to take that approach.
Whether Scancell figure highly in Biontech's plans is still on the cards IMO.

We can speculate but with 50 mill to play with I reckon Scancell can afford to get Modi1 data before dealing on Modi1 TCR targets. If the Modi1 data is good then the price for Modi1 TCR goes up.
IMO Data is now the key to all 3 platforms.

Scancell's vaccine is aimed at producing antibodies similar to those described in the BBC clip.
However these antibodies are produced in the body as a result of the vaccine's action.

But what is different to many other Covid19 vaccines is that the prime action of Scancell's vaccine is also to activate potent TCells. Each type of TCell is aimed at a particular target on 1 of the Covid19 proteins.
These TCells, once activated, will also multiply to form potent attacks on their respective targets.

So think antibodies plus also multiple TCell attacks.
The TCells last much longer than antibodies so they are likely to give longer lasting immunity when compared to antibodies alone.
Many recent studies have shown the importance of TCells providing long lasting immunity against Covid19. They stick around long after the antibodies have disappeared.

Scancell are also using a vaccine platform (Immunobody) that has already gone through a successful clinical trial against Melanoma. This is a skin cancer that is thought to be much harder to attack than an infectious disease such as Covid19. This is because the body's immune system perceives cancer as "self" and will therefore attempt to repel any attack.

Having 50 million in the bank makes it a whole new ball game. In fact we look to be playing Ame Rican football now.

So the emphasis now may be to gather more data on all 3 platforms and forget about any deals including that of Biontech until there is more data available.

Great science = great data = great deal
can now be done in that order.

I would have thought that a good chunk of that 50 mill is for Lindy to advance the science. We have some clues about what Lindy is now planning
Pure speculation on my part but here's a list to cogitate

1 Get modi1 data before even considering any deal with Biontech, it does make sense.
2 Gather more data on the 5 mabs including maybe trialling the most promising one. This area could then become a sequence of trial a mab, deal a mab until all 5 have deals . This is of course the best case scenario
3 Gather more data on the possible killing avenues that Avidimab promises before dealing
4 Of course progress the IB and Moditope platforms but more speedily than previously anticipated
5 For Covidity, I think Scancell will still be looking to government money to progress after a successful phase 1 trial of course.

All speculation on my part and we eagerly await what Scancell have a day at the AGM.

Since the AGM is virtual this year the first item on the agenda is to agree the cookies

Redmile must be simply sold on the science and the quite simply want to get the very best out of their investment. To do this, they don't want to Scancell to do any deals that are at a giveaway price. So my guess they sat down with Scancell's BOD any worked out how much they would need to bring all of Scancell's products to somewhere closer to their full potential. This is particularly the case with Avidimab and the 5 mabs (sounds like a group :-)) for which they have woefully little data for something of great potential.

But drac prior to this latest investment
Scancell had

1. 20 million in cash
2. 4 collaborations including one about to be commercialised
3. A covid19 vaccine in development
4. The possibility of 3 clinical trials in progress next year
5. A recent big investment by a US specialised fund

That doesn't have the ring of a company about to go under to me.

Delivery is going to be very important to Covidity since it has to gain access to APCs and also soft muscle cells without the benefit of the electric field that the Ichor device provides.
Yet another question for Lindy at the AGM. How near are they to the green light on the delivery?

I think Scancell is now proceeding according to the American way. Redmile are throwing money at Scancell. They obviously like what they see. So the plan now seems to be to go for more data on all 3 platforms rather than just 2 out of the 3 as was previously the case.
The strategy now may be not to sell anything before the full potential is known.

As I recall Avidimab had potentially 3 or 4 different ways of mediating the killing of a cancer cells. Perhaps it is data for each of these killing methods that will greatly enhance the Avidimab value. Now scancell have more than enough dosh to provide this extra data

There always 2 ways of looking at postponing a deal
1 ) scancell cannot close a deal
2) extra data will give a much better deal for scancell. Think CAR-T for instance. There is now the luxury of not being desperate to go for the first deal offered.

I am currently stopped at a services on an Italian motorway. Unlike Italians I have not been using my mobile whilst driving so I haven't had a chance to catch up with today's developments :-)

I don't know if this has been speculated on today but anyone think that this extra large amount of money is for a phase 3 covidity trial? Just a thought.

It is speculation at present but it's another matter we could get more information on at the AGM.
Wasn't Avidimab itself also supposed to have the potential to help a CAR-T attack? So this new person may have a role to play in that scenario as well.
It may also have links to 1 or more of the current mab/Avidimab collaborations.
