With Q1 reporting in a few days time imo will reassure the market, show that Ptal are doing just fine and are going from strength to strength both on production and financially, on target with their agenda to date and detail what's expected for the rest of the year.
The updated corporate presentation and commentary will hopefully dispel the non believers and provide confidence that the disruptions of last year are behind us and its full steam ahead.

The article below regards gas rationing due to a plant failure, but it shows the importance of natural resources to Peru which we take for granted, and the turmoil these hiccups cause whether gas or oil, its definitely to be avoided which I see as being favourable to Ptal.

An outage at an LNG complex in Peru prompted natural gas distributors in the country to start catering to those customers with the highest demand, an executive told the Argus news service May 24.

Peru LNG’s 4.45mn mt/yr liquefaction plant is operated by Hunt Oil, with a 50% interest. Other partners include Anglo-Dutch major Shell (20%), SK Innovation (20%) and Marubeni Corporation (10%).

An early May outage at the facility has forced state suppliers to reconsider deliveries.

"We have implemented supply rationing for sectors with the highest levels of gas consumption,” Miguel Maal, the CEO at gas distributor Promigas Peru, told Argus. “In order to mitigate the impacts of this situation, which is outside of our control, we have activated a contingency plan that prioritises service to households as stipulated by the government's emergency decree.”

The Peruvian government outlined emergency measures to cope with the outage, including permission for short-term imports of LNG.

Peru’s LNG plant includes one train, a marine terminal, two storage tanks and a supply pipeline. The $3.8bn investment in the project was the largest direct private foreign development in the country when completed in 2010.

Supply for the plant is sourced from Peru’s Camisea gas fields, in central Peru, and delivered via a 408-km, 1.3bn ft³/day pipeline.

The folly over the border in Venezuela imo had little to do with socialism, their entire economy revolved around oil to fund the changes they wanted to implement.
The US who had never been an oil exporter decided it was in their interests to become the worlds biggest exporter of oil by bankrolling the shale industry (a political decision) which has never been cash generative to swamp the world with oil it didn't need, hence the crash to $20 oil.
Probably to hurt arch rivals Russia who's economy is dependent on commodities,
Venezuela either by design or unfortunately caught in the cross fire was bankrupted.
Note US banks not so keen to back US shale now even though we have seen price increases.
Who are all over Venezuela picking over the bones the good old US trying to get Venezuelan oil on the cheap, a country who is floating on oil.
I am sure the Peruvian's have no intention of bankrupting their country they just want to generate as much cash as possible to implement change in Peru, so again imo a balance will be struck.

I agree with your post, given what we know is happening in the next few months.
I have not taken the opportunity to add to my investment here for some time, perhaps this is a good time as we continue to trade within a tight range, with a market that is supposed to be forward looking it seems to be only backwards looking here and loathe to see what we see. The market throws up opportunities at times and until it sees the advances made in black and white on the balance it is not going to show us any love.

Full year results could only be a few days away reference to last year, with the opportunities with the new pipe line giving new markets and the drilling of new wells to meet demand their results could make interesting reading, if not for the year just gone but the year we are into now.
I am not invested here the 30% spread off-putting, I will watch with interest.

While in March India's power demand increased at almost 7% yoy, in the first half of May demand fell by 6% due to covid, hopefully as May is a month of peak demand, air conditioning, things are starting to normalise as we approach June.

Sadly I agree.

As a side issue this scenario has played out today with VEC, cash rich blue sky potential but useless board with no vision or ambition.
Not an oil or gas company but the principal is the same.

The issue I have with a t/o in the near term is it will happen at 30% premium to the current sp, which would be a give away. Given what's going happen over the next nine months or so we should get there anyway IMO.
So while being taken out is looking favourite due to a static sp which doesn't refect our cash generative operations or cash position I hope it doesn't happen to soon.

I have waiting to exit my position here for some time after long years of holding, thanks for this opportunity and good luck to all long term holders.

Since the beginning of the year it can be seen from the graph chrome like the other metals has been on a bit of surge.

Slowly but surely we moving towards a future with increased production and revenues, although we have some setbacks announced today the deadlines set are still in place.
SQZ are in a great position, my only worry is a take over before we reach our potential which is so close now, it would be a pity if others stepped in to reap the benefits.

Hi TBTT, Johnson Mathey PGM report for May is out if you haven't seen it, doesn't forecast any major disruptions, highlights a normalising supply for Rh going forward, Pt to exceed demand, Pd to stay in deficit, one area they don't mention is electricity outages which could throw a spanner into any forecasts.

My understanding is that the basic sprill split amongst all producers is more or less the same, there isn't going to be a sudden increase in PGMs supply by more production, so as stated the fall in demand for Rh will if does come is via substitution, but what I didn't know is that SBSW are active in this field and are encouraging their end users to adopt this strategy along with amplats?

My conclusion was that even if Rh prices decline demand for other PGMs will increase and it has to taken in context of a basket price, so even if in the original article suggesting Rh price falls is the end for PGM miners is way off the mark, PGMs are a rare commodities.

The interview is interesting as the content as far as PGMs are concerned is relevant to all companies in the space.

Article written in seeking alpha is about a Rhodium price collapse, although the company referenced is SBSW it could easily be any PGM/Rhodium producer.
I disagree with his assumption but it does at least show that there people out there who are of the opinion we are seeing a spike and the price will without question fall back dramatically later this year, even though we have a deficit.
Its worth reading for the comments section at the end, and how someone can see the market completely differently from my take on it.
It should also be said Rh is only a part of the basket price so any company doesn't stand or fall on Rh alone.
Is this a reason why PGMs with Rh prices so high are not going to the moon, which is where I thought they'd be going and beyond.

Sometimes the market for whatever reason throws up opportunities and in our case it appears to be the who!e of PGM space, no matter which producing company catches your eye they are all in a very good financial state getting stronger by the day, THS, SLP, SBSW yet the market is loathe to let them run away, even when the products are in deficit.
Yet attention seems to be elsewhere, with the economy threatening to open up focus seems to on companies who have taken on debt to survive and a promise of what might be, or future markets that have to move into profit, eg fuel cells, as opposed to what is happening now, cash generative now, hugely profitable now, minimal debt now.

For the process, the researchers used a ruthenium on carbon catalyst and a commonly used solvent. They were able to convert about 90% of the plastic to jet fuel components or other hydrocarbon products within an hour at a temperature of 220 degrees Celsius (428 degrees Fahrenheit), which is more efficient and lower than temperatures that would be typically used.
