Must be atleast £6-£7 million just in wages alone. Probably with a generous Pension scheme on top of that, expense account and of course a load of shares. Not bad for producing NOTHING ! I don't think it is a silver bullet. But it does matter if Oil investment is being seen as public enemy, regardless if its only going to cause an oil spike down the road. No UKEF seems to be connected, these are not good for RKH, which was already struggling. Harbour aren't rushing to do anything here and I don't think they have the clout, much like PMO.

The sentiment towards investing in Oil has got worse for sure. The big guys making efforts to get into electric and away from oil too.

Anandarko was according to rumour interested and gave an offer. What that was we never heard, but it was turned down. If true, it looks like a grave error

Phil - Part of the UK investment includes creating an extra capacity to support an Oil industry on the Islands with regards to electricity for the extra buildings etc that will need to be constructed for it.

fuddstone - I can accept humans haves changed the climate, but I also think its too late to stop the long term affects. We will have to adapt to some of those changes. Man might struggle but the planet will be fine in the long run, its been hit by far worse. Co2 right now is actually at near historic lows compared to a longer time scale. Plants like it too. The larger time scales show the temperature has been in an uptrend for 10000s of years, only stopped with large objects hitting the earth and the dust blocking out the Sun, cooling the earth. We have speeded up the inevitable.

All this anti Oil attitude could be doing RKH a favour. If someone presses go on this soon in about 3/4 years time they could be selling 1st Oil for $200/$300 a barrel. Its utter folly to try and control demand in the way that they are, by adding huge left wing pressure to "just stop". You need a viable replacement or you will start to get rioting and general unrest when the wheels grind to a halt. Oil usage will drop by itself when Elec cars are cheaper and more charging points are available and hopefully better battery technology.

Years ago wasn't there a rumour that the US wanted a sub base at the FI ?

I think you are wrong. Maggie would have had the Oil pumping by now, so what she made some mistakes. She would have done this right.

Boris doesnt appear to have the balls to help FI with Oil. If it were Maggie they would be pumping it out by now.

What is your point ? Gas revenues are pretty significant.

Most of the Gas is on the English side.
