RE: I don't get it24 Mar 2021 11:01
Mister.E - I agree - I posted on Sunday evening (re-pasted below) From my recollection Serbia was $10,000 per Bitcoin and that was being run badly - but Bitcoin is now $50,000+ and whilst the proportionate hash rate to the network may have dropped I think priority would be to mine now, get effective whilst looking at energy and customer machines.

Listened to the interview a few times now and this board is getting somewhat polarised. We should discuss the merits and demerits of any company in a civil way and the board in the last few weeks has also been injected with a lot of posters who obviously are not invested from there comments. I said some weeks ago I thought this was a punt on BTC Mining and John Story and the concentration on BTC made it less so, I think we will get there but I also think there is some more strategic clarity needed as I do not think the interview did any good in asking for some more precise questions on Miner One.
My assumption from the interview is that FG will look to mine on current servers probably in Serbia (he said weeks so I assume the servers are still there) and they are also looking to build their own mining servers as a best of the best and plug these in to green energy. That was my basic takeaway but the direct questions I would like confirmed are:
Will mining recommence in Serbia on the current servers and is there a date when FG expects this to happen?
Will, in the interim, FG look to increase Hash Rate with newer commercial servers (Antminer Pro etc..) as this will generate additional revenue to fund the R&D of customer machines?
If the effort is going to be on BTC mining is there a plan to re-brand the company (Clarity Blockchain?!? :-)) to provide more exposure to the company focus and provide additional value to shareholders?
The first one is the key question for me. FG mentioned Serbia could be mining in a few weeks, I would prefer a plan that says Serbia WILL be mining in a few weeks (or months) just a more concrete plan.
There is no guarantee that custom machines will be better, there are a lot of clever people out there and there are specialists in these machines who will have pushed their knowledge to the base having evolved the mining machines since the start, Bitmain are no slouches so I would rather have an approach that capitalises on the BTC mining now and uses industry best of breed whilst an R&D project continues in the background.
If you look at my previous posts, I have said that I wanted to get in to a new miner early and CLP feels like the one and it could be massive so I am trying to be balanced, the interview was fantastic in a lot of ways as it confirmed the out and out BTC strategy FG is now following. I would just prefer a quicker win to be sought in Serbia to both start generating revenue and R&D funding and also prove up the capability to run a solid mining operation before the company signs up for further greener capacity elsewhere
