Very Group reports record revenue
Revenue at The Very Group was up 18.2% year on year to £1.88bn in the 53 weeks to 3 July as sales grew across all categories. Group profit before tax reached £81.7m, up 68.8% year on year. Meanwhile, group EBITDA increased 13.7% to £300.5m , which the group attributed to “increased Very retail sales and improved cost management”.
The group’s fashion and sport category increased 11.6% compared with its 2020 financial results. Its children’s category increased sales by 67.7% year on year. Womenswear sales grew by 50.1% and men’s by 24.3%. Sales of the group’s celebrity and designer clothing offering surged by 69.5% in the year. This included its partnership with actress Michelle Keegan, sales for which increased by 25%.
In the year, Very customers grew by 12.4% to 3.82 million.
In the period it extended order cut-off for next-day delivery from 7pm to 10pm. App sales were up 45% year on year.
