Yup, I've noted this uncertainty. Avacta still have some big hurdles in front of them. They appear to be making the right moves, as you said slower progress than PCR but this is a new method with different development timescales.

This week I am looking forward to sales update, confirmation of involvement in Basingstoke LAMP method and maybe news on D-PCR method.

By end of week i plan to be 60% Nova / 25% Avacta / 15% others

Captainstanley you present a good argument for Affimers over PCR. However you omitted one of the most significant factors. Affimers have a high false negative rate.

As i understand all negative Affimer tests will need to be retested on PCR.
Depending on the setting negative outcomes could range from 90% (in community) , to 15% (hospital setting) depending on setting

The market is big enough for both tests and more importantly the world needs both

I disagree on Novacyt, belive their is plenty room for growth as long as they can continue to add capacity, granted at a slower rate. They could double if their new test is the 5 min LAMP test developed at Basingstoke hospital with OptiGene.

I've set my expectations of two months for a test.. I read company are hinting at 2 weeks :-)

Hi to all on board. Just bought £10k at 28p. Making a nice amount from Novacyt, saw tip on the BB.

Did my research last night, RNS, Annual Report and liked what i saw. They have good pedigree with Novacyt purchasing their immunity division in 2018 and obviously Novacyt have shown themselves to be astute in this market. Omega have a solid product range and company skill set. Is a punt at the moment due to scale and possible challange developing antibody, the upside would be terrific if the alliances is successful

I fell for the i not y as well.
I had read that most mice can't be used for Covid testing due to the difference in immune system. If only there were a company who made mice with humanised immune systems!!

PS I dropped a Novacyt tip on here few weeks ago when it was at around £1.70/1.90 is now at £4.43

They signed a "Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with three other companies from across the UK, in conjunction with the University of Oxford to form the UK Rapid Test Consortium ("UK-RTC") in order to jointly develop and manufacture a COVID-19 Point of Care antibody test as part of the Government's five pillar national testing strategy for COVID-19"


"The UK-RTC, which was announced by the UK Government yesterday, comprises Omega, Abingdon Health Limited, BBI Solutions Limited, CIGA Healthcare Limited, and the University of Oxford (the "Parties") and was formed at the request of the UK Government to support the development and manufacturing scale-up of a COVID-19 lateral flow antibody test ("COVID-19 Rapid Test") to determine whether people have developed immunity after contracting the virus"

Novacyt (Worlds best Antigen kit) bought part of omega diagnostics immunology unit in 2018. Legitimises Omega somewhat. Is very early days as they don't have a working COVID device, if they release a unit (big if) this will be a multi bagger in 3 months. I just bought £10k at 28p

Annual report is a good read

I added at £4.70 and £4.96. Intend to hold for couple of moths and then sell 50%. Though this plan is regularly changing. Few weeks ago i had a £300m to £500m valuation lol

Bought £40,000 at £4.70 and got £4,500 order at £4.60 and £10k at £4.50 which haven't been filled though price has dipped below. Gutted I didn't fill up when i thought I was done buying at £2.60 lol.
