Tenbag, the point they are making is that you already have to have the 100k cash in the Isa. This is possible if you have say put the max 20k pa in for 5 years and/or made a profit from trading in the Isa. If you have 100k (or in fact any amount of) shares outside the Isa as you say you can't directly transfer them into the Isa. So you have to sell first and then buy back within the Isa. You can get your broker to do this for you or do it yourself.
