Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The news only a few weeks ago was that this was to close. So somebody backed down. Was it the landlord or sports direct. I rather suspect it was the former lol.
And radio - more me. I used to get a toy piano every year as a child and yet the multi million pound JL boy and his piano strikes no chords with me. debs have the no doubt more economical other half of the duets True Love (wedding first dance) don't go breaking my heart (divorce dance?) Kiki Dee who has an amazing voice and was shop girl Pauline Matthews before she found fame. The song though is very pro one designer, Julien MacDonald, with the song Star but I suppose stars have other and Christmas connotations. I did all the celebrating the giver deb's shopping for others a few weeks ago and then bought myself a HotSquash thermal dress. To me it says, this is for somebody who is never growing old and heading to M & S for their classic range. There is a lot of that about these days so it should work.
Would be surprised if you have had time to put your head into any shops of late as you have spent most of the last couple of weeks since you joined lse ramping up vog shares.
Anyhow I'm looking hot in the Jasper Conran dresses so expecting to see a few stiffs over the party season. You need to get out more and forget about the current oil price if you ask me. Your family will still love you if you are too broke to afford Christmas shopping. Take care.
Way above my head Cambridge and probably one for the Oxford Union Debating chambers. I think the results are due here soon for any investors to discuss and with Christmas approaching don't really have time to keep tabs on my own portfolio let alone look in here. Have a merry Christmas Shalom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WDLX1Re1tY
Hey and please don't attempt to respond to me again with an article that is at least two months old and out of date re. HoF store closures. HoF was a duffer - probably still is.
Let's look at burgeoning on line sales can we assisted by the presence of shops. Bit down market for some but I have two Jasper Conran dresses this week one bought and tried on in store and another not in stock in my size and colour in store but coming from deb.com. Let yourself and posters like Auson look at what happens to share prices in companies like flyb when good news arrives. Let's toast the shorters for the great buying opportunities they provide us with. Have a good weekend all.
Well I know I support St Andrew's hospice at this time of year by sponsoring a light on a town centre Christmas tree at this time of year. I hope it is not the HoF customers alone who will be putting their hands in their pockets at this event and that the company makes a contribution. I support what Nil by Mouth stands for and I hope you do as well.
Old dinosaurs become extinct. Magrit and Doreen were pals and saw life in a beautiful light. This is what the new blood of Glasgow writers write even if she was from a leafy suburb just outside. There is more unites than divides our city https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpiEA9VnQjo
I am sorry if you think I am highlighting this issue to do you some sort of disservice but it was either you or a poster with a very similar user name who posted very negatively on the thorntons bb when it was priced at around 10p and was taken over at around £1.40 or something like that ie around it's high price over a five year period or so and doubtless some weak holders had been scared out their wits through reading negative bb posts.
Newspaper reporting that a Celtic player and high profile Celtic supporting playwright are involved in the Christmas lights switch on at hof Glasgow. I can't attend as at my own local lights switch on. St. Margaret's Hospice being mentioned as going to benefit in some way and this is a very worthy charity. However, not really sure about the organisation of this event and think it really would have been better to have both branches of the Old Firm represented. Another worthy charity is Nil by Mouth and is really what Glasgow should be all about these days imo. I speak as a Celtic supporter.
Sain@vision. MA has jettisoned more than 4 HoF stores. It really is important that people posting on these bbs get their facts straight. If you can post inaccuracies on a very visible issue like this then I have no idea how much credence to give to anything you are posting.
Well same here plus £7.00 and around £4.00 but I wouldn't bother your shirt now. Spent most of yesterday in different parts of Glasgow and the most noticeable thing in the city centre and elsewhere was the pristine brown Primark bags being toted so fully expect them to topple M & S as the UK's largest clothes seller before too long. Popped into HoF and lots of lights but not much jingling at the tills. Walked through the deserted lingerie section and the sales assistant did say hello but knew she was on a hiding to nothing as I was carrying a big Debenhams bag. The loos at the end of her section looked as though they hadn't seen a drop of Domestos in months! There was a big circle of painted faced staff getting some sort of briefing when I entered and they were still standing around when I left outnumbering the browsers it has to be said. Male staff member was very colourfully dressed in tartan jacket and I was going to ask where he had bought it as I like to buy my husband something every Christmas that I know he will never wear and take to the charity shops - well it gives us a laugh anyway. Was going to try on a black Barbour jacket with detachable mock fur hood but didn't have any hand sanitiser on me. I think Mr. Murray should speak to the cleaners. In the ladies loo at least what the Bearsden and Milngavie ladies who do sport in the Allander centre are looking for is some scents of Arran hand wash and hand cream though I'd settle for some Sannox myself. I hope I am not being hard on Mr. Murray. I have a top academic performer in my house and we could pass on the family business to her but I would like to see her go out independently and get a job of her own at least first when the time comes. Have a very merry Christmas moniman and don't eat too much black bun and mince pies.
I'm not complaining though am I USA which is seemingly where Mike Ashley is trying to finalise a sale of NUFC. Why the urgency now I wonder? . Intu shorted by Odey has told Mike to sling his hook. I don't hold ANY politicians in the same high esteem as you. What have they achieved for you?. It's 2.20 am over here and I have some oil bets on and some Christmas shopping to do tomorrow in the shops not over the internet. Let's hope you get somebody reasonable to negotiate your lease with but the terms have to suit both parties. Been in Dumfries and think it might just about wash its face.
LOL all the confusion and misunderstanding on the board tonight was caused by quoting somebody else's post which I did say was not the best thing to be doing.
It is HoF who announced 4 additional stores being closed today not Debenhams and it is Mike Ashley who is talking publicly about landlords being greedy not Sergio Bucher so I have found your posts a bit misplaced on this bb right at the moment. Anyhow I suggest you contact the politicians you place so much trust in to get them to do something about your plight lol
Should just add hmv chief executive Simon Fox has gone on to make a complete hash at trinity newspapers. Had a look at director dealing and old Si has been at the selling. Don't remember him doing much buying at hmv either in the final couple of years. Sergio seems to have learned something about the old internet during his spell at Amazon
pastyc I read your posts earlier on and all I can say to you is Pinocchio. I remember you sold your hmv shares long before it had a 200% bounce. No similarities to Debenhams. hmv continued to pay a dividend when their profits dipped which was totally foolhardy. hmv were loss making and after selling Waterstones to Mamut had nothing worth selling other than a small stake in 7 digital. They didn't have strong internet sales and were trying to sell products in terminal decline. They haven't found anything to replace clothes and make up yet. Do you want me to go on.
Sir Tom Hunter just made a reasonable donation for this year. Anything to come from spd?
Crowman can you elucidate to Mulder why disposal of non core assets cannot be blocked by MA.. Fact is Magasin du Nord may not even need to be sold.
INTU are right not to play ball with HoF after all Crispin Odey was shorting intu and got a bit of a shock when it attracted a bit of takeover interest. Four less HoF stores for debs to compete with. Is Clive Bentley a better appointment for debs than the inexperienced Mr. Murray over at spd. Mind you I have bought engagement presents for the same individuals a lot. They either don't seem to last these days or folk don't bother at all. Blimey if debs have a few suppliers pulling out, you dread to think what HoF are going through. Find out next month though.
On yer bike moniman. At least Pandic came on two bbs and put his or her money where their mouth was. Absolutely no time for posters full of bull on these bbs. Some of them don't even seem too sure when, where or if they are invested, shorting or just pontificating. Alex Brummer though one of the few commentators I pay any attention to. He's won awards.
