Last held petra when they discovered the big blue diamond last year and I think one of the institutional investors had to sell their holding. Just saw the mighty questor mentioned on another bb. In February he said to watch this this year for a buying opportunity. With only a month and a half to go, definitely time for an update soon Questor. Fundraising concerns says the daily fail just before a maiden divi payout. Seems weird to me.

Hi Phat the thing is though Questor and the others including everybody who posts on this bb don't really know where share prices are headed either long or short term. Nobody's infallible. Questor said in February that petra diamonds was worth watching for a buying opportunity this year. We're mid way through November and so time for Questor to be giving his readership an update on that one in my view. Nearly £11 in April clearly wasn't the right time to buy rr. but with a new chief executive in to start kitchen sinking, record order book and keeping an eye on the oil price, who knows. Certainly a lot of short term traders hovering around this bb who always seem to lose interest in stuff far too early. Have a good Christmas all. I am afraid I stop reading the bb too closely when all the juvenile name calling etc. seems to be given priority.

Hello notgreedy I remember having conversations on this bb about a year just now with driftking but not yourself. The share price went on to rise gradually to nearly £11 in April I think so you could say anybody shorting landed in deep mire. I have no idea if you were one of them atb.

I should have added that good as Forsey has been over the years, he's not indispensable. Nobody is in any walk of life which is why the knock to the share price here has been overdone. There's months to go until the outcome of the case is known and that's a lot of time to be considering the options. Seemed to operate okay without a director of finance for a long time as I recall so I suppose it would get by if it needed to without a chief executive. Who runs this company anyway at the moment. Hello again raulc. Taking put and call options out of the equation, spd have made a lot of money in a matter of days doing simple buying and selling of debs shares at the appropriate times. If you look at the company's investment in jd sports and what has happened this year, you call Ashley a maverick if you like but some would call him a genius. You're looking to take positions but I already have numerous times with these companies over the last year and a half and never been disappointed once. I cannot say that about other retail stocks I have held which have had pretty mixed results. Did I say the Scots would have to become a nation of tennis lovers after the footie result with Poland lol maybe a nation of rugby lovers after today at St James's Park.

Couldn't help noticing your 140 odd posts on the glen bb in the last week. I guess spd share holders will be hoping for the big bounce up here on Monday in the style of glen this week. I thought you ad been shorting that one but I have been a bit preoccupied so not sure what you've been up to. On holiday next week so will try not to tune in. Hey Mikey has obviously ruffled a few feathers of some big holders by doing his own thing but when you look at the investment in jd sports etc. over the past year he is the shrewdest guy in retail. Most retail shareholders and traders twitch nervously as results time approaches but here you can just sit back and relax and look at the solid track record. The Republic of Ireland is, inter alia, " a nation of sport fanatics" according to the spd Chief Executive - and no doubt especially so after last night's result against Germany. I suppose if they attached timescales to their recommendations and target prices, we would be able to measure the success or failure rate. It's about 11 months since Panmure Gordon downgraded rr. from hold to sell. For the majority of that 11 month period, the share price has been higher than when the sell note was issued. The forthcoming year could of course be a different story but I guess companies in glass houses shouldn't really be throwing stones.
