A brief assessment8 Dec 2020 07:51
Let's take an objective view of where we are based on facts, not conjecture, which is what we are seeing here.
Mid October, when BHP came out of standstill, the we are going to get a bid brigade have made up stuff as we have gone along. Remember CGP was going to be acquired by BHP. That was nearly two months ago. What do we have? Nothing, not even a rumour.
Then we had BHP will make a bid, after standstill, again nothing.
Here is the most ridiculous one. BHP will not bid first. I can tell you that bidding first is a huge advantage, the industry I worked in, always enjoyed a massive advantage in bidding first. If no one is going to bid first, then how do we get a first bid.
Next a bid is coming, where is the evidence for this? Just a small amount of evidence, like someone making a bid for someone's shares would be a start, so that we start to see some consolidation. In fact the opposite has occurred, and the book has become more diverse.
Lastly we have NM is under threat, this is again ridiculous, as CEO's get kicked out for doing a bad job running the company. Not because some distressed PI's want a quick return by selling out cheap.
Lots to come, and yet people concentrate on short term gains.
Let's stop the silliness, and listen to what Solgold is saying, and not try and interupt the cooperate messages into, well they would have to say that wouldn't they. ( even more silliness)
