Rich3r I feel you are conflating.
EV's cost is also cost of CO2 reduction.
I agree in its awful that the winter fuel allowance is taken away from those that really need it.
But that was a political decision to save 1.3 billion in the first year.
It won't of course, because after all the extra people required for means testing, assesments and appeals, plus the campaign to take up pension credit.
Much easier would have been make the poluter pay.
Raise the cost of diesel and petrol, so the winter fuel allowance can be paid.
For those that say it would hit business.
Businesses are always adapting and changing, and each individual business will calculate if its better off with fossil fuels or renewable.
They may even absorb the cost, or pass it on.
However much better than hitting pensioners.
Lastly I do believe fuel taxes will rise, so that the change to renewable energy can be accelated.
It's not a subsidiary, it's the true cost that fossil fuels, haven't been charged in the past.
