I was an apprentice electrical engineer.
I did my apprenticeship with the CEGB.
This stuff is carefully planned with a large contingency.
It's the opposite way round.
If we don't accelerate renewables, we will have black outs, as replacing oil and gas will become necessary in the years ahead, with either renewables or more oil and gas.
The oil and gas is the expensive solution.
Every government since the 1970's has failed to build nuclear.
Now they are coming to the end of life.
I don't think we have any choice.
I believe we require nuclear.
However if we can start using storage farms, like what NESF do, then maybe we can do without nuclear.
However I don't think we have the time, so expect nuclear to be part of the mix.
