RE: 2 Majors2 Oct 2018 13:37
You probably find the NDA covers many things from A frontera prospective first and foremost.
For example the 2d and 3d data
The EWT
How much has been sold and transported
The drop down rates
The possible upside.
The Majors would want their data also protected, they would not just rely on data from FRR, they would have onsite engineers doing additional tests and analysis.
They do not want to spend money and time doing that fro Frontera to share it with others, For instance, One major suddenly finds something that really increases value that FRR had not found, tell FRR and FRR use it then to increase bidding with a new company taking interest.
Thats why NDA
So to ensure we do not have any possibility of either side breaking the NDA, its likely that the best way is to give as little info out as possible. I suspect that some direct and carefully thought discussion went on between FRR BOD / Lawyers and with the Majors involved before even announcing 2 majors are involved.
The other benefit to holding back this info, is that FRR can say MAJORS
People now think Chevron, Exxon, BP and Shell as possible candidates. Some have infrastructure in place, so why not. However this is most likely to be Schlumberger as one of the two.
These are a oil Major, but not super major. I would be delighted if they are involved.
This would make other Super Majors investigate FRR, to see who was involved. They would of course be able to see who is looking at data as they have the ability to see who has been to Georgia and when.
They would at least see FRR again on the map, and may consider taking a look themselves.
So the news blackout, may not be because majors insisted on not being named, but rather FRR being cautious. Careful if you like.
Although if a oil major, perhaps you would prefer your competitors to know very little of what your looking as next venture, especially if it had big potential.
You do not fight over an empty box
