If labour were indeed to become king makers in the next irish government, I cant see them being given the energy brief. They'll more likely get something else e.g housing, welfare, education, transport etc.

I expect some concrete news back end of next week. New irish govt should be formed giving us a clue if we should be excited about corrib south/mag mell or not. Also good time for TT update and AG mou renewal.

The simple answer is dishonesty. Best green box them because we all know we cant trust a single word they say.

It's a shame they dont come clean and tell us their real strategy. Shorting, trading, spread betting are all legal ways of investing. Would lead to a much more interesting BB when everyone offers their true insights.

The reality right now is we are in a holding pattern until new year when details emerge on swabbing, drilling, TT and RoI etc. I dont envisage any significant SP swings until then.

Let the FUDsters waste their time and energy chasing the fractions of a per cent on offer. I wont waste my time or energy trying to read into their nefarious intentions, although I reserve the right to take the P out of some of their outlandish comments for my own entertainment.

Good post.

My view FWIW:

1. I expect we will get AG update some time in Dec.

2. TT news will follow late Dec or early Jan

3. If RoI is going to happen at all, it will be clear 3 to 6 months after the election. If the new govt prioritises it, then expect news in Feb

4. And 5. Will be done roughly at the same time. March/april seems likely to me.

6. I'm not overly fussed about the single institutional investor and any TR1. All a red herring to me. We knew that cash was going to be tight before the raise. They've now done a small raise to provide added security for some additional tasks. They now have to show something for that and execute accordingly. A single II would be a bonus but not absolutely essential.

Overall, I dont subscribe to the notion that risks have increased. The high risks were always there and remain so even now. This has further to play out. I'm in until they've drilled a few holes into MOU5. Then I will reassess my position.

Risk/reward still works for me

Cash is king. They now have some cash to deliver what they need to.

It's now all about execution. Roll the dice and see where we are early next year.

The reference to Ireland isnt specific to corrib but there aren't too many options to choose from.

Never really followed Irish politics before but this election looks finely balanced with 3 main players, a shed load of independents and the smaller parties such as greens may still play a part in forming a new coalition from what I can see. My analysis is purely mathematical as I dont know enough about which alliances are likely or not to be formed.

What's your take on chances of greens holding sway in any new govt? Got any insights youd be happy to share? Obviously I'd prefer the greens to be wiped out but their 4% vote may still get some valuable seats....
