As SP is now approaching 90% of the offer price, the market finally thinks this takeover will happen.

A higher offer was almost always going to happen and you got the price completely wrong, so hardly a genius. If we're going to predict the future I think £6.75 will seal it.

If anyone can decipher the below and explain any value in the statement it would be useful.

Of course I agree most benefits would go to pensioners, but the triple lock has long passed it's initial intention and now even billionaire pensioners get the triple lock which is absurd. As you say nothing will happen until the country is bankrupt as it's such a vote loser. It just irks me that pensioners continually get to take more of the pie and inflicted brexit and poverty on younger generations (I'm late fifties btw). Meanwhile younger people will need to work into their 70s. The fuss about the winter wine allowance shows how selfish boomers are.

You're spending too much time on Express and Mail sites. All that ranting about benefits claimants when 60% of the total welfare budget is state pensions of retired boomers who expect a larger percentage of GDP every year due to the absurd and completely unaffordable triple lock. Everything else is buttons in comparison.

Agree, the Murdoch press is obsessed with saying everything is a disaster and blaming the government for absolutely everything. In reality things haven't actually changed that much for the average person. Not saying Labour are covering themselves in glory, but at least are trying to sort some things out unlike the last shower.

The later forward bookings are a real issue I think. For the first time in many years, I'm not booking my flights for next year as the prices are very high and you can see that almost all seats are still available. Flights I had booked last year for this year were considerably cheaper in the spring so I lost out.

I'm honestly not trying to be negative, but except for a reasonably positive earnings announcement at the end of November (and an unlikely statement that 2026 will be very strong) I can't see any upside for the next few months. The SP is ridiculously undervalued, but then it has been for years.

Says at the end that there is still optimism for end of 2026.

I sold all my holding last week at £5.79, which obviously worked out well. I'm waiting to go back in but think markets are underplaying all the geopolitical risks at the moment and potentials for oil prices etc to spike (even though easyJet are hedged for this summer). Going to wait a bit longer to see how things turn out.

What a load of nonsense, you honestly think air passengers keep a close eye on oil prices and then consider the impact on airfares? Airlines hedge against rises months ahead in any case.

Looking at airfares for next summer, prices seem to be about 50% up on this year's (when I booked at this time last year for this summer). Will be interesting to see if people pay these inflated prices or if they come down over time.

To be fair, there are a lot of people on these boards slating day traders, but easyJet is a dream for them. Highly volatile on mostly non-stories like O'Leary mouthing off repeatedly. I'm actually considering joining them as I've earnt more money buying and selling easyJet than working over the last 12 months.

Same, have just doubled my holding. I was going to buy some this week in any case, but now have bought at an 8% discount. O'Leary likes making a drama out of everything and people are just dumping airlines. They are still massively profitable and easyJet have great fundamentals with lower risks than RA.

The FT has a story today that Ryanair are paring back passenger numbers for this Summer due to Boeing not being able do deliver all the 737 Max's scheduled for this summer. Does Easyjet have any of these on order?

This is why I consider the AIM market uninvestable now. There's too much manipulation and no penalties/repercussions for BODs.
