RE: Vod, BT and O28 Nov 2024 09:14
Meshtrader I think Vodafone has gained. BT may be rolling out fibre but their retail brand is really poor. In my last job I took us away from BT to Vodafone. They were an overpriced mess, and they had no comprehension of the customer experience. Their struggles at BT business are no surprise to me. They are like a football team building a new stadium, charging high ticket prices to cover that cost but losing games on the pitch. The only marketing I can remember from them is when they changed their logo from red & blue to black, which is a bit like the above football team changing their strip in the hope of winning games. Some day they will sort themselves out. In the very long term. Probably by withdrawing the BT brand from the retail market altogether, given that it's about as exciting as your grandad's stamp collection. By contrast I think Vodafone are turning it around and I do believe they will show significant market share growth in the UK. Germany might still be a negative but there are a lot of growth markets to offset that. I like the pace of change, I think MdV is doing well, and I'm hopeful that Vodafone are reaching their own renaissance.
