How many shares in total are Vodafone buying? At the Start of the month there were 26 billion issued. Does that include the shares bought back to date?

Once again, when the stock market has a good day, BT jumps three times as high as Vodafone. Why is that? They are performing no better than Vodafone, slightly worse actually. I can't figure it out

I don't think the SP can rise above 76p until a firm decision about the merger, then 80-82p. For the price to clear £1 we need several quarters of improvement. I think it will happen, and the pace of improvement will increase in 25-26

Vodafone is at a critical juncture in it's history, and the indications are mostly positive. However there are still risks, especially with the disposal of Italy and the UK merger. It would be good if this board was a place where investors could share information and ideas. We all have in common that we have our personal money invested in the outcome. It's therefore a real irritation that empty headed narcissists come here to pontificate and crow. Specifically this creature "Toff Appleton" who thinks he has some kind of superior wisdom to dispense to us - the little people. I don't know who he is in real life but I can be very confident his life story does not match his ego. Smart people, successful people are not know-it-alls. They are no complacent or smug. Toff Appleton why are you still here? You have no Vodafone shares, your comments are obvious, your analysis based on the past. Go and read up on the strategy of the company, as far back as the appointment of MdV. Look at their progress against stated objectives, look at their current numbers against those objectives, look at their forecast for the current year and the key milestones between now and April. Then look at the long term strategy plus wider consideration on telecoms as an industry. If you conclude that Vodafone is a good investment then come back here as a shareholder and join the debate. Otherwise p*** off

Toff Appleton. Firstly, what are you doing in this chat room if you hold no stock? Secondly all the charts you say you have refer to the history of tge company rather than its direction. Investment is a forward looking decision.

Savage Keyboard, I agree with you re-BT. There is a cultural expectation, internal and external, that BT will always dominate UK telecoms. Not true. Their retail brand is poorly perceived and even Openreach are losing their mantle. More and more businesses are going to VPBX sim based users, which cuts away most of what BT sells.Their decline in B2B and Vodafone's growth is no surprise. Vodafone are increasingly agile as a business and as a proposition. I moved my shares from BT to Vodafone a few months ago and I'm happy with my choice

Vodafone is a big competitive threat to BT. Their UK business performed well and they did particularly well in winning B2B. It looks to me that they are winning the B2B market share that BT is losing. Their merger with 3 opens up more threats to BT retail (consumer and business) and to Open reach.

This drop is unwarranted and will reverse quickly. I wish I had cash for another 50k shares. They look like a business reaching the end of major restructuring and they should be set for sustainable growth. I'm sure the dividend will rise accordingly.

Figures wil be encouraging but no wow factor. Hoping to see slightly accelerated overall growth and stabilisation in Germany.

Just to add to that, I was a BT corporate sales rep for 21 years. I've also, more recently been a client on behalf of my new employer. I agree with Fibrelad. I want the company to do well but the retail challenge is vast, and they are failing to integrate their services, so far as I can see. Whyever would EE operate in total segregation from BTB, for example. It's coming on 10 years since they were bought over

Fleecy those are media messages. BT has a huge legacy retail base, that's true, but it is in decline. The shrinkage at BTB is especially alarming

They can't change. The business sales division is in a mess of over complication. They try so hard ro be everything to everyone, but only at the expense of simplicity and common sense. For example EE can't see BT retail billing, so you have to have 2 different logins on 2 different websites to see your mobile phone services and bill. The staff are like goldfish, trying to interact with humans. They can see the world around them through the glass, but they don't understand the difference between water and air. This is true of BT in general - hopelessly of touch.
