Prof Horby et al getting some glory from the recovery trial with their anti inflammatory therapeutic combo and even getting some mention for repurposed Aspirin for headaches and anticoagulant properties But I am hoping this is just a counter PR reaction to what is going to eventually happen in the USA

Sorry I was not aware of the SA figure or have no explanation for it I was referring to the UK Further research required then. ?I did hear somewhere however that the demographics in SA have a large population of mainly much younger population people which might explain it ATB

Sarah Gilbert did explain that there was insufficient data on older people in the UK because they were compliant following the guidance staying at home and not getting in affected and now they pursuing additional data elsewhere (USA/Brazil ?) and are very confident it will be effective ATB

hope you don't mind me butting in at this late stage but reading the HC Science meeting comments yesterday Horby never mentioned our treatment and struggled to answer questions on promising prophylaxis treatments and possible long Covid treatments of which SNG hopefully may prove to be effective .It would be worth emphasising these points just a thought thanks

located or the full details of your Dads problems but I do Know that Regeneron was of the Recovery Trial with successes in Cardiff University Hospital .I would not give up on Synairgen though All the very best to you and your dad

On a lighter note miss spelling is one concern miss pronunciation with a lisp could be a disaster

Horby’s response is shameful .The point that Sir Stephen was making there is lot of focus on vaccines are but the emergence of rapid mutations have brought about a realisation that Vax are not the panacea and the need for treatments in the UK should be elevated more than ever to get us out of this pandemic And to say Sir Stephen pursuing his vested intertest just implies to me he in it for financial benefit or otherwise and this appears totally out of character of Sir Stephen throughout this pandemic. Horby vested interest which includes in the pockets of Big Pharma Gov vaccines policy and his own (failed) treatments And not even acknowledge that Sng from Times article is a potential treatment to save lives speaks volumes clearly Sng was always a threat to his researched based ambitions and not encouraging and collaborating as all scientists should be doing in this pandemic may have contributed to the many of the 100 K lives lost
