Not sure if this Chinese retrospective meta-analysis has already been posted ,but it certainly worth another read . The study published in March 2021 highlights all the possible problems that could be encountered when using glucocorticoids (GC) and interferon therapies It is disappointing that this information was within the scientific domain at the time and why SNG did not heed the potential problems , but went on to have replicated the problems in their own P3 trial .Now SNG tell us they have new “interesting” findings with ref to sub group data Well this Chinese refers to sub group data which I fear might again it will just replicate the sub group Chinese findings, hardly new, but hoping it will be of statistical significance and it will confirm a successful treatment for hospitalised patients in the future with a synergistic combination therapies of both (GC) and interferons if required

There appears to numerous studies on dexamethasone and it's inhibitory effect on factors such as beta interferon, TNF etc The study above dates back to 1987 !

Just catching up on the posts this morning .Total disappointment and for me the final straw , if they have not taken blood / pathology samples in P3 given that they are a renowned research company .It's not as difficult as sending a heart or kidney for life saving transplantation .Every hospital ,veterinary practice , most universities and private labs are geared up with facilities to deal pathological samples such as centrifuges ,fixatives for tissue and smears cool bags , Cardice for frozen samples , and special containers like vacuum flasks with specialised couriers to dispatch sample anywhere on the globe .Blood for serum is the least problematic we know interferon is stable a 4 C and antibodies likewise and most serum are sent in microtiter tubes and frozen receipt .It beggars belief they have forsaken the science of Casanova and P. Bastard and other epidemiological investigations that would make this drug a medical breakthrough in our understanding

This is my position
I sold in a panic on the 21st of Feb on reading the RNS stating it failed the primary end points , only to buy back in at a great loss on the same day after reading at the end of the RNS that it had encouraging signal on mortality reduction.I topped up again on the dips solely on the evidence of that encouraging secondary end point on mortality reduction and that's my position now Hoping the deep dive data analysis will confirm this with a greater significance .Its still a gamble ,but its damage limitation now if I recover my investment back I will be happy if it goes belly up then finito .This is my position not advice and I strongly believe in the science but as investor I am rubbish but we are all licking our wounds and in shock but hope you find a way ameliorate your loss The very best of luck

From what I recall Meta analysis has been studied albeit with I/V iFN beta with encouraging data .For inhaled IFN beta I would expect improvement

Baricitinib is a JAK inhibitor and has no specific antiviral activity ,sng001 is both an agnostic antiviral and immunomodulator that is completely safe with no side effects .Its is a far superior therapeutic when just needs a FDA authorisation !

Is Baricitinib an antiviral or better still an agnostic antiviral or just a standard anti inflammatory ?
