Ignoring the opportunity to dive further into this company thanks Quinny. The market cap is now approx that of a terraced house in North London.. I dont think a company with the supposed assets should be selling for so little. I think we need to drill down metaphorically on the license status of Mankayan . If there are license problems holding up disposal, as I suspect, then we need to see how close LR is to resolving them.

Are you coming to the Shares magazine presentation Quinny? There is little point in going through the licensing process and then changing the MPSA to an FTAA if all we can unlock is a paltry £5m.
We need to be a bit more resilient ( to quote our PM) I think we have already turned down a $10m offer.

I think we should see what LR says at the Novotel presentation on 28th Nov. If we are not satisfied with his presentation maybe then we should discuss calling an EGM. If it is only 5% then we should be OK to do so . I have 12 million.

Unlocking the value in this venture .
In the document I was given at the Hong Kong conference. LR goes into detail about the need to convert the MPSA into a FTAA, (Mineral production share agreement into a Financial Technical assistance agreement).
The strategy is to make Mankayan project more attractive to foreign investors.
An FTAA reduces the required Philippines 60% participation and allows up to 100% foreign ownership. It does however require detailed planning and evidence of financial viabilty. So there is a chicken and egg issue given our current SP. However given appropriate collaboration it would "open up an accelerated pathway to the development of the project"
The original MPSA which Bezant signed way back in Nov 1996 was suspended in 2017. However a year or so later under a new regime the Govt reconsidered and Bezant was granted a two year exploration licence which expires in April 2020.
BZT have meanwhile contributed nearly 200k to local good causes and has never indulged in the open pit practices that caused environmental problems so we have established a good local reputation.
Under the terms of this
new exploration licence the management plan to file an application for an FTAA which allows large scale foreign ownership and will make Mankayan much easier to develop and thus more attractive . The current licence which can be extended for a further two years would then convert to a FTAA which is for 25 years.
All this clearly requires a lot of effort by our BOD and it would be good to hear from LR the status of these licencing plans.
The underlying efforts to address the licencing issues and the huge value of the copper gold resource under licence clearly make this still a very good punt. I think we should hold fire about the current SP doldrums until we hear from LR and CB how much progress we are making with the licences > I hope an FTAA is reachable within a reasonable period and we shall then be praising LR not burying him. We have an opportunity on NOV 28th to find out.

Certainly not me Quinny. Was toying with the idea of buying some more but am a little wary of catching any more falling knives. Someone is perhaps tired of waiting and can see better opportunities elsewhere . I fear the regulatory issues which include the profit share agreement may be be discouraging potential investors .

I have not much to say other than everybody seemed positive. I took away the presentation doc which is fairly detailed and deals in depth with the regulatory issues in Philippines., along with the geology and scoping study I think you can get this report from LR or maybe via the website.

They had the SP at .40 in the information pack which Laurence has produced.
Stayed at the Eaton hotel in Nathan Rd this time . I have stayed in practically every hotel in the colony over the years. inc the Oriental Shangri La Icon Grand Stanford Airport you name it. Never could afford the Peninsular nor the Four Seasons sadly.. The mining expo was held in the Grand Hyatt which is bang next door to the Convention Centre where my company was exhibiting so it was all very convenient. Laurence seemed remarkably upbeat hence my optimistic note earlier. Coming back to Blighty tonight ..

Just attended the mining conference here in HK. BZT stand constantly busy. buyers obviously like what we have on offer. I think our travails may be over soon.

or catching falling knives as it is also known can be very expensive if it all goes belly up. If the license can be renewed and I understand it will be then this should not happen. So those who are selling at the current SP are either short of cash or do not believe ( hopefully mistakenly)in the long term viability of the project. Anyone who holds shares bought last year is now a long termer as they are down massively in the last Nine months. Reminds me of the old adage that a long term investment is a short term investment that went wrong.

Chinese have only has only suffered communism and serious despotism for 50 of the last 70 years since the revolution.
The desperate desire to hang on to power and suppress dissent has of course led to horrible corruption and hideous buildings. The PRC has allowed some pretentious showpieces in Shanghai but HK has largely escaped and has a wonderful skyline and a degree of freedom. (they go together trust me) . Sadly the old men in Beijing will hang on to power and brainwash their people as they know that they will end up in jail or worse the moment they lose control. Meantime HK is still a great place. I agree.

BZT is exhibiting at the 1 2 1 mining conference in HK next week Hemo so I doubt if LR could see you in Manchester the next day. I have applied for an invitation to attend as a private investor as I will also be in HK next week. Will let you know how it goes if I get to attend.

I think we are hitting record lows today. Only panic or necessity can explain dumping at these prices

Just Listened to Justin Waites latest podcast interview with LR. Cannot help feeling part of our disposal problem is the lacklustre dull boring sales manner of Lawrence. He has difficulty summoning up enthusiasm, sounds negative and would have problems selling ten pound notes for a fiver . When asked for three reasons why investors should be interested in BZT he droned on and failed to state the USPs of this project. This is a question Justin always asks. So he should have been prepared...

global demand for copper 3, Strong compliance efforts by the company with local regs and a deep mine operation assures minimal risk of political licence issues. There you see not that difficult!!
