In the May rns alba said they would now look at the financial viability of the waste and if it was positive would form a mining plan which would lead to a planning application. Hopefully this is proceeding but we can only speculate until the next update.

Wouldn’t it be upto the local authority to publish the compliance reports not scotgold? They must still be happening and hopefully by now someone has parked the bowser in the right place!

The corporate presentation from February 8th is worth a read as it indicates their intentions and gives rough timelines. With regards to welsh gold I don’t think anyone can fully answer your question until they’ve done the pre feasibility study.
Annual accounts are also just out, if you read the going concern statement make sure you read the whole section, not just the first paragraph.

They have to apply for planning to actually mine the waste rock, the application was scheduled for Q2 according to the presentation but I don’t know if it’s happened yet.

I walked past the office last summer when I was in Dolgellau , the windows were covered in posters for compassion in world farmng. I was expecting more than just the alba/Gmow signage but it’s possible they only occupy the upstairs so anything more grand may not be an option.

No I was just agreeing with butchers comment about regulations really and how it can make everything painfully slow. Alba have taken on existing mines unlike scotgold who took on an exploration tunnel so in theory the route to production will be much faster.
I would add the scotgold share price was at its highest by far six months before production started, it was the confirmation of production that the markets seemed to like. Something I will bear in mind with alba.

Scotgold started in 2007 with a 900m adit dug in 1989, it took until 2021 to get into gold production. The regulation, red tape and faffing is painful, one minor decision can set things back months, even years in mining . However although we can’t completely compare alba to scotgold it does show gold mining in the uk is achievable.

UT trade to the value of £84 has caused the 10% drop, messes with the system! The bid/ask is still 75/85 so we’re not actually down that much, just looks that way, annoyingly I might add!
