The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I cant see ICL getting involved with SM at the moment, there's big plans in place for Poly development, Were currently mining back towards pit bottom for a twin air intake then mining a "super drift" down in to the Poly, don't write Boulby off, with the current set up we can haul over 80,000 tones per week and we can increase the size of our skips.
I've heard all the roomers about our aging equipment, this isnt true ! I honestly don't think ICL will just roll over.
But then again never say never .
I would love to meet some of the idiots on here face to face, see how brave they are then, Pathetic !
Ok, If you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't bother, x
Morning guys, I know this isn't the place for advice but for a small investor who has build his shares up ove 4 years, I'm not sure if it's a good time to top up a bit or just let it bake now.
I'm only talking about a grand, but if or when it all gets diluted it it just a waste of time and money.
I've heard ducks fart in the grass.
Scarborough, I don't know why you say that it's all common knowledge and if you don't know about it, I'm glad I don't work for you either
Inside Info ?
ICL is going in to storage but I can assure you its not nuclear waste, but it's worth 20 million a year.
Birk Brow is not only steep but very tight corners, bit of a nightmare in winter, Lots of drifting snow off the moor.
You could always get Mr Clark to sweet talk ICL and use our rail line loading dumpy bags on to flat bed carriages. :0
Guessing 15/18 miles
I dont know if your poly is going straight for Poly 4 or any crushed for minnies, but if you transported some of it in dumpey bags it might be easier to handle , ie tele handlers, counterbalance , pickups ect.
could even load dumpy bags onto a train at Skinningrove , would half the road distance and could load more on to a train .
Scott, who you talking about buddy ?
All depends on how you look at things, I'm more of a 3/4 full type of person.
You might find the trucks will be travelling 3/4 full due to the weight of Poly.
In mining we know you cant polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.
Come on ICL. :)
Never say never but Boulby has been good to me, I feel loyal.
At 1500m virgin rock temp will be around 50 degrees, then all the transformers ect , you may well need additional cooling, years air we had portable conditioned cabin at meeting stations, I was never a fan of them. these conditions are what turn miners in to brothers !
No doubt Woodsmith will be very appealing "for the younger ones", I've just about done my time, started mining at 19 and now had 34 years in, saying that I would love a visit.
On top of all the challenges mining poly you will encounter, I believe Woodsmith will have heat to contend with, it will sort out the men from the boys.
Oh, I'm a holder, I bought another £500 last week to get my average down, I know its a gamble but in for a penny and all that.
I don't know exact numbers, I think it's around 300 Boulby employees underground and 40 Amco.
Were about to recruit another 100 Boulby for a new project thats worth £20 million a year.
