Just out of curiosity, I have not seen any strategy or plans, How many headings do SM plan on mining ?
I don't know any of you ladies and gents personally but I wish you all a Happy Christmas and hopefully a very prosperous new year, keep the faith and be strong but more important keep safe !
ICL good for something, eh !
Jones, Where have you got the "generating Billions of pounds a year " from, Sorry mate you almost make something so serious laughable, where are you getting it from ????
I've said before from what I hear at work, the only reason ICL would buy SM out would be for the mining rights, ICL only tell us and the rest of the world what they want us to know, but it does make every sense to put a lid on the competition.
IcL might buy it just to put a lid on it, No competition,
We know only to well what ICL is like, they only look after themselfs constantly robbing the workforse.
Don't go writing Boulby off, big investment coming it's way, but good news for the market.
I don't like to think where the poly has come from for all the trials . :)
IBAB
OK so I don't know very much about trading and shares, but what I do know is about mining Poly, I have different views on things and know about lots of challenges SM are going to encounter but I don't sit here spouting constant negatives.
As with the funding, SM will also find mining big numbers a challenge but I believe they will overcome .
PS its more like 280k now :)
your expecting £130 per ton, is that for raw poly or Poly 4 ?
Hi Myo, we only get told what they want us to know, but from what we have heard, our drift was never meant for full production and our poly process plant was never designed for anything above lets say million tonnes.
Plans are in place to mine a super drift and have a much bigger process plant off site so most of the old process plants and the power station "could " be leveled.
Due to the mild winter salt is on the back burner at the moment but everything is set up for a push button start if salt if required.
unfortunately its the nature of the beast, maybe if the wind if blowing the wrong direction, but i'm almost sure the noise will be the surface fans and i'm sure with us been in the national park and we have a very good environmental department everything gets checked regularly.
I'm guessing the noise is below 86db throughout the surface of mine as no ear protection is necessary, and Hinderwell is a good couple of miles away, possibly just haters using it as a tool
You always get someone looking to get a cheap a shot, Our main issue is dust and were working on it, the only real noise we make is the surface fans and you certainly cant hear them from the road.
Well you can make of it what you want, I was pedaling along the moor road the other day past lockwood and I think I can safely say there was more cars in the car park at lockwood than there was in ASDA at Skelton, got to be a good thing ?
Just my 10p worth, I don't think ICL would be interested in Woodsmith, If they did come in for it, it would just be for the mining rights in that area, Mining at 1500m is going to be a nightmare, I dont think ICL want that.
I could be wrong !
Chesh, please read what I wrote, "we can hoist" 80K a week ! the problem isn't hoisting, its the cutting !
We used to cut and hoist up by 80k a week when mining potash and salt, Poly is a all new ball game.
It would be a nice sight tho that much muck poly on your belts, I wish you all the best with it.
Im not Disagreeing , I hope Im around when your producing 13mta.
Please dont jump on the band wagon about ageing equipment because its not, we have just had 4 joy miners flat out for a month and got 75000 tonnes, How many production districts does SM intend to have and how long will it take to get there ? we have talked to Komatsu /Joy engineers, its interesting conversation.
George your very wrong buddy.
Hey Chesh, I don't really side with either side, I genuinely hope both companies make a good go at it, there's lots of peoples livelihoods depend on it, I just get a little frustrated when people post when SM get up and running they will crush ICI, If ICL pull out of Poly it will affect a lot of local people and businesses .
4 years ago I saw what I thought would be a nice future investment, I picked my side and I'm gonna stick with it,
