Personally, I swallow. I'm still talking burgers btw. Do you know what happens? I end up with burger in my throat. Oh man, I'll end up with burger all over my throat swab and another false burger result. Who knew that the largest covid testing risk was burgers? I would stick to a nasal swab, but you guessed it, I love the smell of burgers so much the first thing I do (after my morning burger) is snort a load of burger juice.

To avoid spitting burger in the test, people shouldn't eat a burger prior to taking a test. Sometimes the solutions are there staring you right in the face. I've got to admit I was struggling to see how I could have avoided a false burger result. I don't know about anyone else, but I like to have a constant stream of burgers every single minute of my waking day.

There we are, I've exhausted some sarcasm. The sensible answer is that the user guidance will helpfully tell people what they should and shouldn't do to make sure they get a good sample. I am indeed and it's a lot more relaxing. There's not much to be said in terms of where the company is and likewise, there's nothing to be said to the repeated deramping nonsense that gets repeated on here day in day out. They need to change the record as it's dull to read and even more dull to waste energy on the same replies. The days when the BB disappeared was a decent lesson in the pointless nature of bickering on here, my research has been done, I'm happy to hold and I'll share anything new where I can. Discussing something new is interesting, responding to repetitive tedious clowns isn't.

Not sure how that first mover advantage will be looking if the press are as critical of this Chinese rubbish. The positive to take is that the idea of mass screening and the use of LFDs is starting to become widespread. Despite the issues he’s highlighted it’s still good to see these schemes underway.

For anyone wondering why Awacta are taking their sweet time over tech transfer, the cheap import has a failure rate of up to 16.8%.

I’ve been refreshing Susan Hopkins twatter page all day, decide to do a bit of work for a change and someone else snuck in for the glory.

I’ve found the report.... we’re not named in the 6. That’s because they haven’t named any of them other than Innova as that’s the only test at phase 4. Note the caveat...

“To date, the performance characteristics of the Innova LFD in the evaluations performed to date are good with a low failure rate, high specificity 99.6% and high viral antigen detection. Furthermore, issues need to be addressed to understand batch to batch variation, acceptance of the tests by the general public and the effect of operator/training effects upon performance characteristics. The delivery of appropriate training appears important to test performance.”

In other words, it’s good, but not suitable to put in the hands of the great unwashed. Keep calm and carry on.
