Cold hard cash talks and if awacta do manage to sell everything they produce whilst simultaneously progressing the oncology work, then I'm expecting this to be one of the them. I think I'm basically back more or less to where I started so no wounds yet, if there is further games to be played in the short term then I'm quite relaxed, que sera sera.... The impact of the Pfizer vaccine was hugely overdone given the ongoing need for testing and especially mass screening. We've heard from awacta who have given their view that it does not change the demand for testing. The arrival of a phase III results from vaccine trials wasn't a surprise, they were due earlier but delayed to ensure they didn't benefit Trump (allegedly). The surprise was the 90% figure - but based on an interim set of results that haven't been peer reviewed and there isn't a full understanding of how safe or useful it is, for example stopping transmission, across age ranges. There probably will be a reaction to other vaccine news, but that's fuelled by the self fulfilling belief there will be a reaction. Given the reality that Tech Transfer and LFD news can drop at any time, I know that if I tried to be clever and trade Awacta would choose the moment I'm out to release an RNS. Given the disaster of my lunchtime walk that meant I missed it all last time, I can't guarantee I'd be able to react so my plan remains the same, hold and hope for the best.

I don’t think interim results count. They don’t know how well it works with the asymptomatic, they don’t know how effective it is at different age ranges, they don’t know how long it lasts, they don’t know it it’s safe in the long term. There is more to learn. It’s also not clear how it’s going to reach third world countries or anywhere without a lot of dry ice.

Congrats on your last post Safy. Calm down dear. They haven’t got a clue how well that vaccine works, never mind the practicalities of it. I’d say I’m a realist when it comes to vaccines and not a fan of rushed ones using a new approach. There’s a long way to go. The most likely passport in the short term will be granted based on a negative antigen test. All eyes are on Slovakia and their mass screening approach.

Tests for immunity? Maybe that’s why the govt aren’t interested. Their own website says this:

“An antibody test cannot tell you:
if you’re immune to coronavirus
if you can or cannot spread the virus to other people”
