"Looking for any option on the table" is another way of kicking the can down the road, whilst looking like you're being proactive. The CEO might've been advised that split is the way, but I don't believe this is what he wants. The move puts the company back 10years of development, whilst sitting on your hands for 5, might only loses you 5.

I personally don't want a split and would prefer a depressed SP until the political landscape changes "sanctions permitting". Could be 5 - 10 years, but it will change, it always does. Putin leaving the helm would be spun like a political win by the west and sufficient for greed to overtake political will.

The important part that might've been missed on yesterdays web call was that the first two or three questions were posed by banks. This should be a good indication that institutional money is just as interested in this as we are. They will however do a significant amount more research and number crunching than most PI's. They won't be rushed to buy or sell, following their strategy to the letter, with proper risk management.

At this point, those institutions will sit firmly on the sideline, but know the potential profits to be made by being first in the door. There are too many variables to de-risk at the moment, therefore they won't enter, but believe they will be watching like hawks.

The company is running and functional. Financially, debt has become cheaper and extended credit lines agreed. A stock pile of inventory, being sold by the end of August. Machinery maintenance and contractor concerns mitigated by early purchasing.

We will go sideways for the next month or so without any news or new concerns. Sanctions is the big immanent hurdle.

My only rebuttal here, would be to question how would you justify a £15 sp at the start of the year, with similar debt levels (admittedly increased slightly), the company production estimate has not changed and remains on target, if you're saying that now it is worth sub-£2, the debt rationale doesn't correlate.

The political landscape and ability to sell that which is produced and service the debt, I get that. Sale of assets at a lower than market value, I get that......but all of a sudden debt being the nail in there coffin...I don't believe this to be the case.

London-listed Polymetal is considering disposing of its Russian assets to focus on operations in Kazakhstan in the face of Western sanctions against Russia, it said this week.

"International sanctions against Russia continue to have a material impact on sales, procurement and logistics," Chief Executive Vitaly Nesis said in a statement.

"The management is fully focused on maintaining operating and financial stability of the company."

The company's Russian mines accumulated 130,000 troy ounces of gold equivalent in gold and silver bullion inventory in the quarter, Polymetal said, adding that the gap between sales and production is likely to be closed in the third quarter as it ramps up sales to Asia.

Its gold equivalent production fell by 9% year on year to 326,000 ounces for April-June, Polymetal said, adding that it was on track to meet its full-year production guidance.

The miner has yet to provide detail on the potential restructuring to focus on Kazakhstan.

It is due to hold a conference call to discuss production results with analysts at 1000 GMT on Thursday.

You have completely lost me here, I can only respond by saying I have many Lears, and fortunately doing very well. No need to change that.

As for changing political landscapes, neither you or I have a crystal ball, which I'm sure we can agree on. Therefore, it is merely supposition and opinion on both sides.

In all honesty...I'd prefer them not to split, but they are playing the political landscape as it is laid before them, which is all they can do.

If they can play for time and not rush the sale, looking for best value, the war "special military operation" then comes to an end via negotiation, potentially sanctions would be part of that deal. Many NATO countries have done very well from Russian gold for many years, the political motivation could wane swiftly, and the political landscape a very different place for companies like POLY.

Newdealz, 100% agree China has to be in the pole position as a potential buyer, geography being a significant advantage to them.

I would think that they would purchase all assets together, as the buyer you'd hopefully have economies of scale, you'd get all cheaper than individually. I'd assume that this is exactly where the BOD are at at the moment, even potentially negotiating a potential sale.

@Tyga, fundamentally I agree, but there are still many variables to fall into place. Don't dismiss the risk. After all we have seen this rise off the back of news which was public in April, not much has changed, only that they confirmed they're investigating a possible split.

This is the time to write down what your plan is, exit, entry, accumulate....whatever it is. Stay away from emotion, FOMO or irrational selling. Don't be swayed by idol chitchat on BBs, stick to the plan. Walking away from the screen is sometimes the best option.

I think we start to consolidate here. we are above downward trend line still. Some profit taking was inevitable, most serious holders will want to see what tomorrow brings. If support is formed around 208-210 we could see further gains
in the short term. IMO

Id agree, can't see it going crazy (though id be happy if it did)......buy the news, sell the fact.

Id be happy it holding above 204.45 downward trend line and confirm breakout, which it looks very likely to do much better than that.

It will shake out a few early profit takers, but as the board said they want to clear the way for institutional money. Thats when we see the big sustained moves.
