I guess it's because they haven't applied for any of this govt funding, deliberately. Perhaps they feel it would be too restrictive.

PHE could build 3 DMGs for £120M to produce 12 tpd of hydrogen.

That's the direct comparison.

Ref-hornet, where do you get your figure of £500 reenue from? Are hyou taking into account gate fees, and sale of hydrogen or electricity or syngas? Or licence fees and maintenance fees? How are you structuring the revenue stream?

I'm certainly not Dusty, I'm a strong believer in PHE and the current management, and I've been with them for many years, through thick and thin!

Dustyslay, Of course we need syngas as a starting point, and I'm not suggesting anything other than that. I think you're misunderstanding what I'm getting at. I'm simply pointing out that a further process is needed to produce the hydrogen, as discuss between myself and Swazers a couple of posts ago. I'm not putting forward anything negative about the DMG, and I don't understand why anyone would get that impression.

Swazers, you are of course dead right as far as the Ballymena project is concerned, because in this instance PHE are selling hydrogen so they are responsible for the whole process right through from the waste plastic input stage to the hydrogen output. Bear in mind that the PSA equipment is an expensive item to be bolted on to the capex cost of the DMG, last estimate I have seen some time ago was in the region of £12-£15k. In other instances it is possible that PHE will sell the syngas rather than the hydrogen, in which case they will not require the expensive PSA equipment.

Swazers, Just a point of clarification: You wrote:

The DMG does not produce pure hydrogen directly, it produces syngas which consists of a combination of gases including hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide and others. In order to produce pure (99.999%) hydrogen the syngas has to go through a further process through a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) system, which is independent from the DMG. That process may be carried out additionally by the DMG owner-operator or it may be carried out by a separate independent company such as Linde.

You're crazy Castle! Your really are obsessed with this. The White family holds 15.02% in total and that hasn't moved much for ages. Please tell us what evidence you have that they are selling on a regular basis!

Rh, you seem to be assuming that PHE is going to have to stand good for the capex of the DMGs. That is not the case, certainly in the case of NH2 it will be a licence fee deal, so NH2 will be paying for the build, and will be operating the plant.

I'm not sure what the arrangement is for the Ballymena project, whether it's to be on a licence fee arrangement, or whether PHE will build, own and operate the plant itself. I seem to think it's the latter, in which case PHE will have to find the funding for the capex. Last I heard the capital cost of a 35-40 tpd DMG could be in the region of £30M - £50m including the PSA equipment to extract the hydrogen from the syngas.

Castle, you really need to get off this obsession about the Whites. I see no evidence that they are selling lots of shares and even if they are, that is entirely their business.
