Retrofit might possible for existing diesel-electric vessels but I suspect it just wouldn't be feasible for existing vessels powered with Diesel engines. Also it is unlikely that a retrofit would be viable for older vessels with limited life remaining.

I hope that's not the case, but you might be right. I saw on the Vard web site a while back that they said they were ready to go and were looking for s shipping company to give them an order for one of these vessels, so perhaps they haven't been able to get any orders yet.

That was more than a year ago. I hope there has been progress since then, and that some prospective customers have shown an interest. Fuel cells for shipping could be massive!

Thanks jhonboy and Klunk. That's the project I was thinking of. Hopefully it's still ongoing, and we may get an update for the AGM.

Mucksy, where did you find this, I couldn't find anything about it. I presume that it's AFC's fuel cells that are being used here?

But the point is, I think, is the contractor being charged by the hour or by the day.
Also I'm not clear, when they say lease, who is leasing it to the contractor, is it AFC or is it a leasing/hire company?
TBH I wouldn't expect AFC to get involved in leasing or hiring, I would expect AFC to sell the plant to a leasing company and for the leasing company to lease it to the contractor. But I could be wrong.

Seafllat, how do you know that it's HW that is continuing to sell? He isn't the biggest shareholder. It could be one of the other White family members. Or it could be someone else.

The White family reduced their combined holding below 20% so that HW could become more involved in PHE's business, not less! Hardly the actions of someone who believes "this is going nowhere"!

I don't see any mention of Rolec on the AFC web site, but that may not mean anything.

I expect HW is getting involved with Keith and very likely with Peel as well. That's not something that would be publicised at this stage.

Why are some people saying there have been no sales? Surely AFC sell to the leasing company, they are not leasing it themselves?

I see that the PHE web site still hasn't been updated for the latest TR-1s, but after these TR-1s the White family's holdings were as follows:
HW 1.92%
BW 4.82%
JW 7.78%
SW-R 5.42%
Family total 19.94%
So I don't know why any of them would be continuing to sell more now.
