Actually Castlepaul, it's the new Chairman that we're expecting be announced imminently, not the new CEO. The new CEO will be announced at some point in the future, hopefully not too far away, and Keith Riley will retain the CEO position until the new one is appointed.

Interesting, so that's blue hydrogen to be produced from natural gas. And natural gas is virtually the same, or similar, to the syngas produced by the DMG. Presumably they will have a "carbon capture" facility as well?

But yes, LedZep, that's the timing that I gleaned from the interview as well. Select the contractor and sign off with them about the end of March, and Financial Close around that time or shortly after. I actually think that Peel and PHE will both want to reach FC by the end of March, because that's when Peel's option to take up UK Developer Exclusivity expires and I can't see that being extended again. Also the date that PHE's loan of £3M to the SPV is supposed to be repaid, and I can't see that being extended either.

I'm no expert on Planning rules and regulations, but I would have thought that they would need to at least run the foundations of the buildings within the 3-years period, and not just the basic site infrastructure i.e. roads and and services etc.

This is down to pure ignorance and inability of governments to think outside the box. Instead of going along with the ideas of ill-informed protestors, Peel, PHE, the local authority and the goverment should have engaged with the protestors to explain the process and educate them. This issue about the DMG being classified as incineration is really very serious and has to be addressed. Let's hope they don't start the same silly protests in England.

I was really hoping that Peel would pick up the gauntlet and convince the inquiry that the DMG process is NOT incineration. And I certainly hope that the rest of the UK doesn't take the same erroneous view that it's incineration. Thos is Scotland's loss, because if they can't use the DMG process to deal with end-of-life plastics, and at some point they will have to stop incinerating it, then they will have no alternative but to landfill it or ship it to some other country who will throw it in the ocean.

It says that the threshold was crossed on Friday 9th, but I see no evidence of a transaction of that size recently. Has this taken place over a period of time?

Planted: Because Peel has an option on exclusivity in the UK, which they can exercise at any time up to 31st March. So in effect, PHE cannot go elsewhere to build a DMG unit either by themselves or in partnership with someone else, unless Peel give up their exclusivity option.

Why did PHE give Peel this exclusivity and tie their own hands? Well, that's history!

Paxtan, the funding awarded to the university of Manchester has nothing to do with the DMG process directly, it is about finding a more efficient and cheaper way to extract pure hydrogen from the syngas that is produced by the DMG.

The current plan is to employ PSA (pressure swing adsorption) equipment to extract and purify the hydrogen from the syngas, but the PSA equipment is very expensive and therefore adds a substantial amount to the upfront Capex cost. If the Manchester University research is successful and if it can be used at commercial level, then it will be possible to reduce the capital cost of the DMG+PSA plant.

Timing is not yet known.
