i am not invested here....but for pi's that are i would cut your losses and run for the hills. this has a long way to run and will be torturous.....google amigo and the torturous process that those pi's went through.....obviously different scenario.....and may be a slightly different outcome for cbg in the end but will have a significant material impact on the company and the sp....no doubt.

Regarding an offer from JD....nothing has changed since the 2nd Feb.

What is difficult to understand is the SP action and what is going on regarding trading behind the scenes, PI's are completely in the dark. Realistically we all should be free riding with the SP in the high 50's and 60's which makes it a lot easier for PI's to sit and wait for 1st March. There is not enough sticky hands and the trading action behind the scenes is unpredictable......I hate the city at times....even though I work in it, there are too many disingenuous vultures.

The 2.9 is not a trigger of a bid coming today. The most important RNS is still the one from the 2nd Feb.

Anyway I am still in but have de-risked as the SP is not naturally performing as it should pre bid. I am on hols at the mo but keenly watching from afar.

I would ignore the Muppets....their opinion is not valued and the key thing is it has zero impact on the SP.......better they think there opinion is important as it exposes their limited mindset.

What is SUPER IMPORTANT:-

RNS 2ND Feb - Julian Dunkerton has since confirmed to the Transaction Committee that he is engaged in discussions with potential financing partners (“Potential Sponsors”) for the purposes of considering options in respect of the Company, which may include a possible cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company, not already owned by him. These discussions are at a preliminary stage and no decisions have been made.

Since the 2nd Feb we know JD has been acquiring more shares to reach the magic 30% mark.....there is ONLY one sensible conclusion for his actions.

The non event today of the news that the hedge fund was selling last week spooked PI's.....I have seen it soooo many times....Darktrace early last year was a good example. But it did help me understand the movement of the SP last week as I could not understand why it did not continue to rise to the high 50's last week..we now have the answer. The SP action today was a result of spooked PI's not focusing on the correct swimlane.

JD is the story.....First pigeon is the non event. We will get the success story at the end of the month.

PI's got spooked by First Seagull selling. They sold the stake last week! The focus should be on JD and JD only. If JD was selling that would be a red flag........but......he is buying on the cheap raising his stake. That should be the focus for PI's.

Nothing has changed since the RNS on 2nd February stating that JD is in discussions to take SDY private. That should be the focus and not if a hedge fund is reducing their stake.

JD is the one that is buying SDY....not First Seagull. First Seagull were selling all of last week from the breakdown. Which explains the SP movement last week and not a rise into the 50's and how JD was acquiring cheaply. All good from my perspective.

Yep sticky hands are needed.....JD needs a significant number of more shares to get to the 30%ish percent pre bid....PI's need to relax.....only day traders constantly watch the SP every second of the day....patience pre bid is needed.

Its a fair point Sheltie re my confidence on £1+. I have given myself plenty of slack with my statement in that none of us know the exact price but as a minimum I am super confident that it will be £1+.

The key rationale being that there are various sources quoting that the brand is worth £400-£600M. They sold the IP for $50M in APAC alone recently. Most importantly the brand is still strong and popular it cannot be compared to any other acquisition on here i.e Ted Baker etc. The strategy moving forward just needs a revamp in my opinion.

Lets see where we land....and who is right and who is wrong. At the start of last year, I know who was right and was wrong on Darktrace!

You are absolutely correct Toffers that an extension can be applied. Given he is the CEO, you would assume he would not need further time for due diligence. Given he is very wealthy, he does not necessarily need to round up a load of investors, it is really just agreeing terms with a finance partner you would assume. Hence I would assume that he would not require an extension or if he does it would be to dot the i's and cross the t's hence very short term.

It is more likely an extension would be called if another party put a bid in and as a result there is a bidding war.....that would be the best case for all PI's.

I am excited how it all pans out....regardless I have full confidence that it will be a Win Win situation for PI's.

All form 8's need to be submitted 10 working days from 2nd Feb, so end of this week it will be very interesting to understand the breakdown.

As I have mentioned before, deadline for bid is 1st March, not tomorrow or this week. GLA.

Some PI's are forgetting that in order for a bid to be successful it needs to be good value for all parties. If you research any acquisitions there is normally a significant mark up to get the deal done.

To use an example....if a house is valued at £1M....you cannot acquire it with a bid of £500k!!!

The bid will be £1+ where both parties get good value.....otherwise another external party will be swooping in to acquire. JD knows this. DYOR.

Starbright....lets play the yes/no game as I see you have strong and incorrect opinions in my view. Agree the 111p is irrelevant. However I firmly believe the offer will be £1+ given the brand and potential etc etc.

Is JD dancing around at the moment acquiring a couple of percent for the good of his health? Yes/No

Is JD acquiring a couple of percent more because it will be a lot cheaper than the bid price? Yes/No

In order to get a deal agreed for the other 70.1% for arguments sake, does he need to make an offer that is fair value (often with a mark up) to get a deal agreed with the transaction committee? Yes/No

Has JD been triggered to do this because he has inside and public knowledge that bids are likely to be forthcoming from other parties? Yes/No

Will that support ensuring that the bid offer is good value for all shareholders? Yes/No

Iknowyourgame.....very good point regarding the unusual quantity acquired a couple of days ago.....I think we can assume that he is more or less on the 30% threshold when all is said and done. Right for any doubters I think that provides enough concrete evidence......company law states that by acquiring 30% of stock you must make a bid for the remaining stock.

V interested to understand what JD has got in total prior to the bid! The more he gets cheaper, it only means the better the bid price in my view as he more £100's of millions to play with.....but at the moment he is doing what he should be doing acquiring as many as he can on the open market for peanuts.

But for PI's that have a strand of doubt....this re-affirms he is making a bid.

The bid will be between £1 and £2 initially....no doubt in my mind.
