A close above 610 today could do good in the short term

I wonder what are they waiting for in order to close their shorts now that the trading update is out. None of the broker ratings expect price to be under 400p atleast. If MA or other major shareholders adds more to their holding, it could inflict some pain resulting in shorts closure.

MA has been doing his bit but we seriously need CEO and other directors to buy some stock to instil some degree of confidence amongst other shareholders

I always had a view that management were somehow able to keep the price down whilst the buyback was in progress so as to get more out of their dough. Perhaps, they can let it go off the hook now as we approach end of buyback?

Next did well as it has physical stores and their business model works well. However, Next will not double your money, Asos will so I will stick with it.

Good stuff! Lets see if we can get some nice weather for next couple of months that we did not get during July/August. Next 2 weeks of forecast looks beautiful and September has been good already advised by Jose today.

How does good weather - warm and sunny increase sales for Asos when it's autumn/winter. Do people tend to buy half sleeves and shorts during this period when they know winter is around the corner? I understand sales can get hit during summer if it's cold and wet but I don't understand how good weather improves sales figures during autumn /winter. Thanks

I think market is pretty much okay with today's update else we would be down 15- 20% at least. Where is Mike Ashley when we need him to increase his holding? Is he not allowed to buy today due to the results?

That short interest of 7.47% was before the Trading update that came out this morning. Will be more interesting to see if it continues to rise after today and what basis given that results are pretty much in line with the guidance except for free cashflow which is just the timing issue.

JPMorgan cuts Asos price target to 500 (550) pence - 'neutral'

Berenberg cuts Asos price target to 760 (940) pence - 'buy'

These broker ratings are good enough to fcuk some of these shorters even if this gets to 500p

Anything but red day is fine with me. Will be even happy if we closed unchanged to be honest

Hoping for a £4 + close today and all these negative thoughts will disappear .

Trading update for the last quarter was well summarised so hopefully we'll get something along those lines and not just few lines.

MArket nervous mainly due to Fed hawkish tone last evening. Lets see how market reacts today when US opens! Some say real movement occurs day after FOMC meetings.

Numbers were probably ready to go public for Q1 yesterday so perhaps a leak of some kind with shorts closing as a result? that's my speculation!
