The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Absolutely, as fund managers across the globe have already started buying European ETFs as they seem to be quite undervalued. How long can the shorters keep the lid on is now the question. Ftse100 getting to hear 9000 this summer looks inevitable after all these years of slow to no growth.
Pokerchips,
I don't think Ocado cares about what happens in the US...whether it's NFP or job market, Fed's interest rates, inflation whatsoever. Even if Nasdaq moves up 1000 points in 1 week, Ocado will hardly react positively but if nasdaq falls 200 points or so, it reacts by falling 3-5%. Btw, Nasdaq is up almost 700 points and S&P 500 up around 120 points since recent lows, but Ocado is still where it was 2 weeks ago if not lower.(day yet to finish|)
Furthermore, if the takeover or US listing ever happens, the Ocado retail will be very profitable as the cost of investment on robotic arm is mitigated and/or capitalised into balance sheet resulting in less overheads on the retail side of business. This will definitely increase market share as goods become cheaper as we have already seen in the last two quarters. Other supermarkets may struggle to compete with Ocado as they continue to absorb higher costs of labour.
Absolutely! The tech is there and is proven to cut costs and increase efficiency. The effectiveness lies in scaling which can be done if the likes of Amazon or Kroger can acquire the AI robotic arm of Ocado or in full. We are not far I believe.
Have decided to top up again at 351p level for now...perhaps we could see a late afternoon rise in expectation of Monday's AGM. Possibly some positive news coming out of the AGM meeting and/or speculation about US listing or takeover. GLA
Bayo,
Nice looking chart you share that I always look forward to...Does today cross and close over trend line indicate that the trend may now be reversing ? If not, hopefully seen the bottom today.
Why is the CEO/BOD so quiet given that we are down 50%+ in last 4 months. Other than sueing M&S that negatively affected the share price, nothing constructive has come out of OCADO. We need a plethora of good news to bring it back to late December/January levels.
