Thanks Dave. What I find incredible is that on one is mentioning Synairgen anywhere in these articles. There are only references to studies involving inhaled interferon, so only relatively few people (i.e. scientists and shareholders) know who this is about. SNG need to raise profile as it helps commercialisation and puts pressure on government to move faster, imho

@hold4results... agreed... it is difficult, when you have a lot of money invested, to be completely Bjorn Borg about it - very easy to get emotional and also we all want to believe this will go the distance (I am still a believer, and not just for financial reasons)
My wife is even worse, she wants me to keep topping up ! :)

@Chrishar - completely agree, we should discuss risks all the time - this is definitely a very risky investment, however informed and calculated. I am not entirely happy with how quickly this clinical trial is developing and have my doubts (not about the science behing SNG but other factors) - very often people go nuts here and as soon as someone mention risks they are called derampers :)

@Chrishar - That article made no sense whatsoever, very disapponting even though I don't normally follow Motely Fool but they are everywhere on the net.

Biotechs are never meant to take the drug to market - depending on the size, financial muscle biotechs take the compound as far as possible in the clinical trials and then out-license to a pharma company who completes the trials and has sales and marketing distribution networks to commercialise. Sometimes they partner with several pharmas to maximise regional revenue, especially looking at pharmas already present in relevant therapy area (in our case Respirtatory Care). So it oesn't matter SNG have never taken the drug to market, really doesn't.

you are absolutely right, they will want to appear tough, but when things start turning grim (which unfortunately they will, I am genuinely sad to say) they will need to produce something to save the day. So as long as SNG results currently are anywhere near the 79% efficacy this will be a bomb. Unfortunately for us, the investors, that means probably another month or so of this (occasionally painful) waiting game...

@pmjh - My undersatdning is that WHO has organised distribution of Remdesivir and Interferon (my understanding is that it is intravenous) across Asia... I know they were sending it to the Philippines, perhaps it's the same thing we're reading about in India now.. or maybe I'm wrong

@henk12 - completely understand your frustration and makes sense to me, good luck with your other investments. I am holding and will continue to do until I believe SNG is on track to license out - regardless of the share price because if the deal does happen SP will rocket. If I wasn't so convinced in the research behind SNG and the market potential I would be out, really puzzled by the fact that it is being completely ignored by the media/government

I was advised by my neighbour who is a surgeon to have a jab this year, just to make sure that I am not potentially dealing with flu and covid at the same time. Makew sense. Incidentally, she knows about SNG, seems like NHS staff are talking about it

44% is a significant percent but reading mixed messages about the results of this trial - everyone agrees that it reduces number of patients needing ventilators by 44% but supposedly "– There was no statistical difference in mortality between patients who received Actemra or placebo –" ??!?!?! (pasted from businesswire)... I am also holding 4D and it's fighting back and resisting market forces this morning, assume a number of people have read the EMPACTA results and decided to bail SNG?

Is it just me or does it it feel like this interview is downplaying the importance of Blautix to the overall portfolio (4D pipeline)? I reckon 4D is still massively undervalued so will be buying more (already hold a position), not panicking at all, just noticing that Blautix was kept for the last couple of minutes of the interview and somewhat downplayed I reckon.

Also, this is the first time they are mentioning early October in the context of announcing Blautix trials results? Using verbiage like "hoping that the drug will be proven safe and efficacious" doesn't fill me with confidence :) Still, will be buying more as I reckon this is a very serious company with a massive future.

Completely agree - also heavily invested, jumped in at £2/share (and holding!) and want this to be an absolute bomb but unsure why there is no more buzz and pressure on regulators/governments/big harma to get this moving as 79% efficacy reported on 20th July is unparalleled (even if it drops down due to larger sample size in later trials). Based on the previous data set there should be a queue of pharma companies throwing money on SYN. What's happening? Why the secrecy? Buzz will only help us get a better licensing deal, all big pharma companies will want to be the ones that in-lincensed the drug that "saved the world".

@dafad - thanks! Also worth mentioning is that his brother is Rahm Emanuel, former White House Chief of Staff during the Obama administration (according to Wikipedia). These are super well-connected people, it is very encouraging that he is mentioning aerosol-administered interferon (apart from SNG but is there any other inhalable interferon treatment out there?)
