It's worth mentioning that it is very difficult to quantify commercial potential of thisnproduxt as it is a treatment for Covid but also a broad sprectrum antiviral for potentially any chest infection and a potential prophylactic for patients with comorbidities in flu season (as it has also shown efficacy in tandem with steroids).This could go into billions, very difficult to predicts

If phase III is completed and also receives FDA blessing I will feel better. I was comparing our vaccine with Russian& Chinese because we're still in phase II and government (if Daily Mail is to be trusted a single word they publish) is already making roll-out plans. And frankly because I have become very cynical with the narrative coming from the government. Any government not showering SNG unconditionally with only 80-100m GBP to produce a promising treatment is not to be trusted imho. Rant over :)

Oxford12.... it's because people, for some reason, see the vaccine as a direct competitor to SNG which is simply not true, this has been discussed on this board to high heavens.

Docdaneeka, there is plenty of money to be made by SNG even if a relatively successful vaccine is rolled out. Anyone sensible knows that.

But anything coming from this governemnt via Daily Mail has to be taken with much more than just a pinch of salt (I am being civil here).
I am very much pro-science and cannot stand all the media attention various anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers and 5G radiation/haarp etc people are getting - but would think twice about getting my kids vaccinated with a vaccine that has not yet been through proper trials. Uk government is basically doing the same thing Putin and the Chinese have done a few months ago - and we ridiculed Russians for it.

In principle I agree with you that this world needs every help it can get (and for those worried about SNG - do not worry imho) but I am very sceptical of anythingvthat is being rushed for political reasons.

Scrambler... Duncan looked ****ed off in that interview because of the post-Blautix SP meltdown. Blautix could become a go-to drug for GPs to prescribe as first, safe (no side- effects) treatment for IBS imho. What that means is either a cash lump sum now for 4d or a smaller lump sum and milestone payments from the big pharma over the coming years (something like a revenue percentage). And that in itself could be measured in recurring revenue in hundreds of millions per year due to the size of IBS market. Would love phase III to validate phase II findings... we' ll all retire early :)

Dacorum - we are not competing with vaccines. 30-50% of population will not even take it and it is of very debatable efficacy as it is. Vaccines and treatments will have to work in tandem - and there is such a huge market for it (on top of it being a broad-spectrum antiviral). This has been discussed on this board to high heavens already.

Well played Sir, much needed steroid boost for the SP. I could see frustration on his face in the last interview where he was explaining to people what Blautix results actually meant, hopefully that downward trend is now history.

I am not an expert, my nderstanding is that for a drug to be accepted by the medical community as a safe, efficacious treatment for a particilar indication/disease it would have to go through separate trials (as there might be dosage/delivery method differences). That said, these tonce a drug is available out there and if delivery mehod is the same (inhalation via nebuliser in our case) I think a lot of it would ve down to the prescribing physiscan as well (need to check that but have been told something along thesenlines)
