Thanks for your replies people... 4D's pipeline looks very good, and perhaps more importantly the fact they are leading the way in terms of live biotherapeutics makes them a partner of choice for many pharmas looking to invest further in this area.

My question was more rhetorical, simply annoyed at the SP being so low when you think of all the catalysts ahead of us over the coming weeks/months.

Can somebody tell me please why is this stock dropping like mad despite stellar fundamentals? Why is it that even huge news like Nasdaq SPAC are not helping the SP ? Decent Blautix RNS sends the SP down by 50%!!!

Also, wouldn't it be very risky to short this stock? Considering the pipeline?

I was thinking whether going doing the "nutraceutical " route would make sense... it would certainly start making money, mind not nearly as much as it had an approval as a IBS treatment

RPStock - thanks for the reassurance, I am a big fan of 4D - and I am still of the belief that Blautix could turn into a great commercial success. I don't think DP and the board are necessarily interested in being taken over, 4D could be a mid-size pharma in 5 years with big pharma partnerships and their distribution channels. Not sure how is it that more people are not recognising that, find it confusing really.

RPStock - thanks for pointing this out. Looking at the trades it does feel strange how quickly SP rally gains melt away even though there is no real sell-off going on. It does feel that we would need a tremendous piece of news (i.e. drug approved by FDA) to get the SP moving into new highs. Frustrating

LargeGin... yes, many conspiracy theories... I don't agree with them but they are the most commonly discussed ones. Some of them do sound unrealistic, some less so.

Imho, I am disappointed there has not been a more vocal support for SNG from the government. They probably have their reasons but fact is that things could move faster to save lives and I have a feeling they will start picking up pace now. I was hoping to draw out any other theories from people that would be more plausible.

As to why the government hasn't just financed the whole thing - there are many theories but they boil down to the following...

1. Governemnt know better than Prof. Sir Stephen Holgate and they have judged that nothing will come out of SNG. Considering they have just knighted prof. Holgate for his part in SNG's Covid19 research - the above doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Are they just completely disaorganised and chaos reigns supreme? Maybe, hopefully not.

2. Various lobbies and interest groups are actively working on preventing SNG from getting things done faster. Key people in the decision making chain (deciding on nationwide trials prioritisation etc.) are very closely linked with some of the key organisation pushing their products. There is a lot of money in play so you decide whether you think this is plausible or a conspiracy theory.

3. Government wanted to wait till preliminary Phase III results start coming in before fully endorsing SNG so it would not seem like SNG is receiving preferential treatment to many other phase II trials in place. Considering how much this new lockdown is going to cost the treasury - is this theory plausible? I.e. that they would care whether they are seen as biased to SNG? Not sure.

4. Government has asked for certain conditions SNG were not happy to aaccept (i.e. fixed price, IP rights, etc.). Again, as all of the above it is pure speculation and we will never know.

5. Vanity. Scientific community advising the governemnt were not happy to let small SNG (headed by prof. Holgate and Monk) take all the credit and would rather the credit for 'saving the world' went to someone else. Very far fetched and certainly hoping it would never come to this.

6. Government are helping as much as they can without forking out the 80m GBP ,but keeping a lid on this as they don't want gen pop to believe that the cure is around the corner (as nobody would be taking these lockdowns seriously and in the short term NHS would completely collapse).

The above are theories that have been discussed on this forum and elsewhere... am I missing anything?

peasant - great work finding this. Slightly puzzled as this is AZN study INEXAS, paper apparently published a week ago for a Phase II completed 4 years ago? Am I reading this wrong. Certainly states RM and Philip Monk (SNG's CSO) are involved...but why publish this now?

Castlepaul13 - there is one more thing Holgate, Djukanovic and Davies can count on - immortality. In the scientific circles they will be known, imho, as the founders of the company that brought Synterferon to the world :) Genuine legends.

Also, guess how much money guest speaking will make them. But, I think this peer recognition and fame is a much bigger motivator.
