RE: why do they not deliver with more confidence?26 May 2021 09:06
Johnnie, I am a big fan of quiet competence. But occasionally it is not enough (especially is the US). The article you submitted is written clearly by a recognised academic - however focuses on CEOs of established multi-billion organisations and is based largely on anecdotal examples (I.e. Apple, Daimler, Lehmann brothers).
I am a big fan of DP and AS (Duncan in particular). He is a great businessman and a business strategist but webinar lacked some basics yesterday (again, not talking about the phone line here) so they did not quantify at all the commercial opportunity behind Blautix (and why it could become the first choice for prescribing physicians). One of the analysts had to ask them how they would position themselves (!)
In US, at this moment, there are many very exciting opportunities in Oncology, Alzheimer, PD, etc. and we need a more clear business case for investors to make the cut. Institutional investors do make decisions based on data and hard facts rather than being pitched by a passionate salesman, but quantifying a clear business case with conviction never hurts (especially when you are a SME trying to break into a new market and win some fans).
I am a massive fan of 4D and believe in the company (which is why I am invested) but this investor communication could improve.
Ultimately if the Oncology trial is successful none of this will matter and we'll have pharma knocking on the door so this is not the end of the world, but would be great to see them being more positive and concrete.
